AICN was able to get their hands on two new posters for the upcoming Michael Bay film, Transformers.

The first poster features Optimus Prime and the second features Megatron.  The Prime poster you can find to your left, the Megatron poster is over here.

In the film, the Earth is caught in the middle of an intergalactic war between two races of robots, the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, which are able to change into a variety of objects, including cars, trucks, planes and other technological creations.

Transformers hits theaters on July 4th, 2007.

These images are already used on the Transformers MySpace site. They look wicked, but still not right. I am curious about Hugo Weaving as Megatorn.

Optimus Prime looks great from this angle. But as one of the talkbackers on AICN said: Megatron looks like Robot Chicken.

I like the posters and am looking forward to seeing how this film turns out. I'm surprisingly optimistic about it. I expect it'll be a fun and intense movie (as are most Bay films).

The image of Optimus is in a word, "Hot!" The poster of Megatron still leaves me shaking my head. Yeah, he loves evil and all that, but he just doesn`t look as cool as Prime. I`m really going to have to reserve my judgement for the big screen and hope that he doesn`t look too Robot Chickenish.

Eh. Still not interested.

Seriously, the Transformers franchise has been dead since about 1988. The new shows like Transformers: More then meets the Eye and Energon and the like all suck. The comics suck. The new toys are boring (Star Wars Transformers??? COME ON!!!) This movie already looked lackluster (Michael Bay?? PLEASE), but the news that Frank Welker won't voice Megatron was the final straw.

Bring on Die Hard 4 and Fantastic Four 2.

Really narpin, what exactly looks "lackluster" besides Megatron?

I think if a person was never a big Transformers fan to begin with they aren`t going to be just because of the movie.

Yes1 Yes! Yes! Yes! Optimus looks SO right. I want these posters. I can't wait for the movie. I don't remember the last time I was so pumped about a movie. Everything that comes out about this movie makes me want to se it more.

The image of Prime looks great while Megatron (like many of the early shots) looks too "busy". It's hard to make out what's what. Granted we're just seeing a head shot hopefully the whole image will come together. I'm interested to see what they do with Weaving's voice, clearly it'll have to be tweeked quite a bit, his voice is more recognizable then he is: "Mr. Anderson......."

This is not the Megatron we know yet. I remember reading that in the film, Megatron will retain his alien form for most of the film. So, once he gets his earth based form, I'm sure he will look more like the helmut head we all know... You gotta be more patient about a movie you haven't seen. Unless some of you are psychic, you can't assume anything from what you have seen other than it will be an action packed flick... the previews prove that.

I was never a Transformers fan, but I'm looking forward to this because of Michael Bay. The special effects and the action should be top notch. The faceplate gives Optimus a knightly look, which I like. And, the eyes make him look alive, give him some personality. This movie's going to be a lot of fun, but will still probably piss off a lot of Transformer purists.
