THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER covers this year's Golden Globes nominations. Genre films were weakly represented in the main categories, with honorary genre flick GANGS OF NEW YORK leading the nomination count at five, Peter Jackson's THE TWO TOWERS adding nominations for best director and best drama picture, and Paul Newman's performance in ROAD TO PERDITION garnering that picture's single nomination.

GANG's gaggle included best drama pic, Daniel Day-Lewis for best actor, Scorsese for best director, Cameron Diaz for best supporting actress, and U2's "The Hands That Built America" for best song.

In television, genre fared about the same, with 24 up for best drama series and the show's Keifer Sutherland and Dennis Haysbert up for best drama actor and supporting actor, respectively, ALIAS' Jennifer Garner and CSI's Marg Helgenberger for best drama actress, our old friend THE SIMPSONS up for best comedy and Sci Fi's blockbuster TAKEN up for best mini-series.

Dominating the nominations overall were CHICAGO and THE HOURS, with 8 and 7 nominations respectively.
