As you heard in yesterday's official ABC announcement, the network has officially confirmed that V is coming back to television next fall. You can check out a clip from the series in the video player below. The series is a re-imagining of the 1980's miniseries about the world's first encounter with an alien race in which the aliens call themselves The Visitors, and have a seemingly friendly agenda that may or may not be a cover for something more malevolent.

"V" stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch as Father Jack Landry, Lourdes Benedicto as Valerie Stevens, Logan Huffman as Tyler Evans, Laura Vandervoort as Lisa, with Morena Baccarin as Anna and Scott Wolf as Chad Decker.

The series is produced by HDFilms in association with Warner Bros. Television. Scott Peters is executive producer/writer and Steve Pearlman and Jace Hall are executive producers. The pilot was directed and executive produced by Yves Simoneau.

Looks good and creepy. I'll give it a shot.

Loved the original V when i was a kid..remember being grossed out when they would bite into a rat!..lol Will have to watch this in place of my cancelled Favy Sarah Connor Cronicles. May that show RIP..what a shame and a waste. I have slight hope that maybe another network will buy the rights and move forward with it. SCI-FI Channel WINK WINK. Since BSG is gone, they should put money into it. I imagine the production costs are near the same. Sorry got off topic.

V IS DA BOMB YO!

I remember in the original series that they mentioned that the visitors were at war with another alien race, and the resistance tried to contact them for help. I wonder if this enemy of the visitors will finaly be shown in the new version? Also, I hope that Robert Englund and Michael Ironside have cameos.

Isn't this a mini-series like the original was?  Reading your guys comments you are talking about like it will be a series.  I know they are rebooting it but I hope they go with the mini-series first rather then drag it out over 20 episodes.  They tried that with the old V when they made it into a series and it didn't work.

I agree, Hobbs. When they turned it into a regular series, the characters ran around pointlessly playing cowboys and indians. And they completely jumped the shark with the magic child story.

Guys what I have heard lately is that V is going to premerie next spring and will probably run 6-11 episodes total and kind of be an event series. I think that would work well. I have all of the orignial V both miniseries and the ill fated T.V. series. I loved the orignial, but the long t.v. series didn't work. However 6-11 episodes is close enough to a miniseries to make it work. However remember a few years ago not many people were that psyched about BSG being remade and look what happened. So we will see. I love the cast though and from what I have seen so far they are definitely an upgrade from the original actors except for Michael Ironside, they better find a way to work him into the new series because he makes every movie he is in better.

Ships effects look good. I've always like Morena Baccarin from Firefly and Serenity. Already I would question their motives though. That interview has got fish all over it. Don't want to be seen negatively? hmmm means you got something to hide. Yesss fish all over it or maybe just maybe she's a (SPOILER) Reptile?

One thing I know I know for sure, their TV sets must be OFF THE HOOK!!! LOL.

Ehh the original still is and will be alot better then this crap. Better characters " Ham Tyler" for one, and fun actors. The problem with TV today is everything is watered down.

I doubt they will even look like lizards haha sorry i like my 80's and im not one for new characters and a new type of direction.

TTSCC was way better then this crap. God id love to ring some producer and tv network people's necks sometimes.

I like the idea of this as a series. Television has progressed quite a bit since the original in that the creators and networks are more willing to let a story evolve and progress instead of keeping things at a status quo that gets stale after one season. Especially with Sci-Fi shows. Heroes being the exception heh heh.
The original ongoing series suffered from that as well as deviating from things established in the mini-series due to budget and what have you. Remember they lost the weird voice.
I agree this looks sufficiently creepy. Hope we get all that "Visitors Are Our Friends" marketing. I ate that up.
I agree in part SgtTechCom. The original still is better. But that's because this ain't aired yet. And will be? Ahem... Battlestar Galactica... Ahem. I ate enough crow over similar statements with that. This may be better and it may be worse. Time will tell unless you're a close-minded sort. I can appreciate the sentiment behind loving the original and wishing this was a continuation but blanket statements like that seem close-minded
In closing, I love Morena Baccarin and wish this was on HBO.

I think the current political and global issues make this PRIME for a reboot and could really take off, if done properly. BSG benefited from the post 9/11 and Iraq occupation and had writers who mined that perfectly (well, for the most part anyway) and this could do the same.

I am willing to give it a shot, but, like Xenomorph and SgtTechCom imply, gotta have some pepper with the salt: Ham Tyler's gotta make a cameo! Or at least a character just as cool!

Bring on the rat eating, mammal humping long tongued lizards!
