Sweet Indeed.

Universal Pictures have revealed their first two posters for The Wolfman courtesy of the folks over at Cinematical and AICN. Leading star Emily Blunt graces one of the cover shots while her co-star Benicio Del Toro shows off his hairy predicament in the other. You can check them out here and here. Check out the trailer below.
The remake of the 1941 classic also stars Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving and Art Malik. Director Joe Johnston helmed the production from a screenplay by Andrew Kevin Walker and David Self.
Plot Concept: Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, "The Wolfman" brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar® winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother... and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.
Lawrence Talbot's childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother's fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate.
As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself... one he never imagined existed.
The Wolfman will howl its way into theaters February 12, 2010.
So has this been in the can for 2 years? The images look better but so did GHOST RIDER until Nic Coppola of the bankrupt islands came on on screen.
I doubt this will will be total crap. There is too much quality talent. Hopefully Hugo will make up for his performance as Moelestatron.
As sweet as this is I still can not for the life of me understand why in the world Hollywierd wouldn't release a horror classic remake on Halloween and instead waits till VALENTINES DAY weekend? Valentines is gushy chick flick weekend. I Love the old Lon Chaney Jr Wolfman and this is a movie remake that I feel should be made (which is rare that I want to see a remake and especially when I loved the original)
I don't think you need to say anything else on these posters. Simple and to the point. I agree about the release date but that old saying that if its good, people are going to see it no matter when it comes out.
Sweet.
