Ubisoft Premieres Trailers for FAR CRY 2 & More!

Gaming developer Ubisoft premiered a few trailers at their UbiDays conference in Paris and I'll be placing them below. The games included were Far Cry 2, which is branching into a new direction minus previous hero Jack Carver, the upcoming next generation Prince of Persia, the new war games Brother in Arms: Hell's Highway, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. and Tom Clancy's EndWar.

Far Cry 2 creative director Clint Hocking explained why they went into a new direction and took out the supernatural elements with Carver.

"The time for running through dark corridors shooting demons with a plasma rifle [in first-person shooters] is done.... Players want more meaningful experiences that deal with human emotions." And how will Far Cry 2 provide those experiences? "The relationships in Far Cry 2 are the gameplay," Hocking explained. "The relationships are what give meaning to the car chases and the explosions and the guns."

He also made a comment on the greenery expected in this sequel.

"This grass isn't fake grass. These trees aren't fake trees. They're real procedurally-generated trees."

Time for the trailers..

Like an old pair of shoes, I love Far Cry... it's old school 1st person, with no remorse. I still remember playing certain levels to death (pun intended) can't wait... just need XBOX 360 to play, anybody wanna donate?

Looking forward to PoP.
Farcry looks nice but enough with the Tom Clancy shit.

Tom Clancy doesn't even have control over his name anymore, Ubi bought it. I guess that's why Sam Raimi wants to direct a Jack Ryan trilogy with a younger Jack Ryan set in the modern era. Yawn. I bet he'll leave out all of the good stuff from Clancy's books too.

I cannot wait for Prince of Persia, but I'm anxious to hear more about the Beyond Good and Evil follow up. Far Cry? Meh. Looks pretty generic.
