Star Trek veteran, Nichelle Nichols, has been cast in the NBC hit show HEROES, says Tv Guide. This marks a strange reunion of sorts seeing how George "Sulu" Takei portrays Hiro's father in the show. Nichols won't have as big a part in it, according to the report. She's to play a limited role as a grandmother to a new character named Monica (who is being portrayed by Dana Davis). Her character will be living in New Orleans.

In other news, actor Masi Oka (Hiro) answered a bunch of questions from fans delving into how he feels about being nominated for an Emmy, his character being different in the future and a fascinating desire to fight dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. To read it, click here.

Big thanks to scooper, "monkeyfoot", for being on top of the game.

It's great how Kring and company are using genre legends to please the show's fans; just builds more excitement and buzz for the show. i can't wait for the new season.

Damn! I just emailed you this scoop and you beat me to it. This would be cool. She deserves to get more work. Despite being older, she is still an attractive lady. But she doesn't have those killer abs anymore.

I find this amusing (featuring Takei and Nichols in the show) since they have made references to Star Trek in the show. I wonder if anyone ever told Hiro's father how much he looks like that guy from ST. Almost as amusing as the first episode of 'Studio 60', which featured Ed Asner, where Steven Weber used a quote from the old 'Lou Grant' show.

Okay, just another reason why I should buy the DVD's of the previous season and finally jump on this bandwagon. Sigh. Just what I need in my life - MORE TV!

monkeyfoot : "Damn! I just emailed you this scoop and you beat me to it." So tell me Monkeyfoot if you saw the scoop on here almost at the same time you submitted it then how is it that Jarrod possessed and already HAD the story and link within moments you became aware and posted your awareness to the story in this post??? HUMMMM.... Could it be he already had it and was sitting on it until a person he is neutral OR with positive relations with found it and he then credited them with finding it? Think about it. Think about how some of us behind-the-scenes have to struggle to get one mesly article greenlighted where you can waltz up and get into the club with no problem. It's called editorial prejudice. It's a shame that is practiced here. :-(

Damn, ninjabitch.. oops, I mean ninjavvitch. Could you complain anymore? Someone beat you to a scoop like a week ago and you`re still holding onto it? Sheesh!
monkeyfoot 8/15/2007 10:15:45 AM
Geez, ninja. I don't even know Jarrod. I don't know why you think there is some conspiracy going on over submitting news items. It would seem like way too much effort for little things like this.

I hope she has a scene with Takei...
