UK Update and R1 Tidbit?
Date: Tuesday, July 06, 2004An email went out recently from the folks at MVM in the UK regarding the status of FUNimation titles that they sublicense and release for that market:
These are the recent Funimation titles and the UK rights position:
Burst Angel - No UK rights Gunslinger Girl - UK rights Baki the Grappler - No UK rights Tenchi Muyo Ryo Ou Ki - UK rights Kodocha (Kodomo no Omocha) - UK rights Full Metal - UK rights Spiral - UK rights
Not too many surprises there but a good growing number of releases for the UK market. But Baki the Grappler? When did FUNimation acquire that.... Hmmm. It looks like they even registered the doman (not that that proves anything these days) for www.bakithegrappler.com back on 17-Mar-2004. Odds are of course that this is the 2001 series and not the 1994 OVA that CPM has previously released on DVD.
