Beattie and Sommers Ditching Origins in TARZAN - Dec 04, 2008 - 10:21pm
" you don't just show up in the jungle and all of sudden KNOW how to swing from vines in the jungle, while wearing khakis." You are incorrect, Silversufer sir!  Lucas, Spielberg, and Shia LaBeouf all tought us that you CAN INDEED show up in the jungle and all of a sudden know how to swing from vines, no matter WHAT you are wearing!   ;)

LAIR OF THE BEASTS- Creature of the Woods - Nov 30, 2008 - 12:36pm
Pauline needs to do a better job of checking her bread for mold before making sandwhiches!

Mumbling Kitsune: The Astro Boy Movie Trailer: What Would Tezuka Do? - Nov 25, 2008 - 11:42pm
Well, after reading this article, I went and watched the trailer twice in a row.  Personally I don't see how the animation is anything less than very well done, and there's really nothing else shown to judge the movie one way or another!  Are we jumping the gun just a bit?  Are certain minds already made up to no like this movie?  I'm sure die hard fans will find flaws and be unhappy with any changes, but let's at least wait until there's something to even judge!

First Teaser Trailer for Disney's WITCH MOUNTAIN - Nov 18, 2008 - 05:20pm
I really want to like this...but I just can't seem to let go of my love of the originals!  I think what this film is missing the most, is the plot element from the first movie, where the kids don't remember who they are or where they are from, just that they don't fit in and can do things other kids cannot.  All the mystery is gone and replaced with special effects and bad one liners.  I'm sure I'll still see it though...I am a movie slut.

Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter Revealed for Burton's ALICE - Nov 18, 2008 - 05:10pm
Wiseguy, you're remarks prove what an idiot you are.  Go back to weeping for your McCain/Palin loss.

First Teaser Trailer for Roland Emmerich's 2012 - Nov 14, 2008 - 06:34pm
Avidfan...Y2K really wasn't as big a deal in the course of history.  It wasn't even really that big of a deal to most people who had rational thought during the time!  The problems assosciated with Y2K were all fixed well before the date, so why anybody was still paranoid was just because it's human nature to be silly and start screaming "It's the end of times!".  (Gotta love them religous nut jobs!)  The difference between Y2K and 2012 is pretty big.  Y2K would never have meant anything at all if modern mankind didn't have such dependence on computers, yet 2012 has been a focal date since early man and has nothing to do with technology.  I still don't give it much cred., but it's very much two different things.

First Teaser Trailer for Roland Emmerich's 2012 - Nov 14, 2008 - 04:09am
The reason this movie is called 2012 is because that is the date when the ancient Mayan calender ends.  For some reason, people theorize that the Mayans knew something we don't, and it's the date for the end of the world...or some kind of massive shift in the world as we know it.  Some scientists are considering the fact that the sun will undergo it's 11 year cycle of magnetic pole reversal (it does this every 11 years) in 2012 when some of the planets are aligned in ways that hasn't been seen before...possibly creating magnetic disturbances and even a "pole" reversal here on Earth.  Of course this is all theory and even a bit paranoid, as nobody knows what will happen if anything at all.  But if a magnetic pole reversal WERE to happen, it might cause some of the events seen in the trailer for 2012, so I'm kind of wondering if that's the theory being used in the movie.

TRANSFORMERS 2 Shoot is Done! - Nov 03, 2008 - 05:31pm
Hahaha!  Just because he's not your type Dazzler, doesn't mean you have to keep hating on him!   Can't wait for this movie!  Megatron's new alien tank mode is bad ass, can't wait to see it in action along with the new bots.

Bale getting STRANGE? - Oct 29, 2008 - 02:36am
I call Bullshit with a capital "B"!  There's no way he's going to want to star in another comic hero movie series, and probably no way his team from Batman would even let him.  Think about it...vying for shooting schedules with competing comic book company projects?  Nope.  Not gonna happen.

Kate Beckinsale Done With UNDERWORLD? - Oct 29, 2008 - 02:27am
It's been awhile since seeing the Underworld movies, was there even anyplace left to go after the second?  My memory is vague, but I thought they wrapped up the story pretty well.  Guess I need to rewatch them.

Teri Polo Visits THE HOLE and WHISPERER - Oct 22, 2008 - 05:40am
Nice!  The first two Focker movies cracked me up, here's to hoping a third is just as funny!

FRIDAY THE 13th Teaser Footage and TWILIGHT Footage - Oct 22, 2008 - 05:28am
Supposedly that Friday the 13th footage is NOT the official teaser, just a preview they've been showing at conventions and the awards.  The real teaser trailer will be attached with Saw 5 in theaters.

DVD Review of The Strangers (Unrated Edition) - Oct 22, 2008 - 05:26am
The highlight of this movie is by far the acting of the main characters.  Both did a great job in making us believe they were a real couple going through hell.  Other than that...it was your basic home invasion/torture flick.  Honestly not my cup of tea.  I love horror and thrillers, but was a little too much like the crazy shit that happens in real life every once in awhile.  Yeah, I know...it was based on true events, but that's what bothers me.  I don't enjoy seeing bad stuff happen to people for no reason. SPOILER Especially when there's no vengence or retribution and the villians just get away with the horrors they comitted.  Maybe it doesn't reflect real life all the time, but I prefer to see a protaganist get the upper hand and right the wrong by the end.  Just feels more satisfying.

Roven says ROBOTECH could start next year - Oct 20, 2008 - 10:42pm
I'm sure a lot of it will be Earth based, but no 81artmonk, the whole storyline is NOT it taking place on earth.  The storyline revolves around the military and citizens living in Macross city, which gets rebuilt inisde the giant alien ship AFTER "space folding" far into space.  Their space journey back to Earth makes up almost half the Macross series!

New Updates and Screening for FRIDAY THE 13TH - Oct 20, 2008 - 10:36pm
LOL...omg you guys.  Yes, there IS a remake of Nightmare on the horizon, but it's still far off and there has been NO CASTING YET!  They haven't even finished the script.  It's all rumors!

Some Spoiled Characters Returning to SAW V - Oct 14, 2008 - 04:41am
I think they already announced a sixth movie when they announced the fifth...but there was a catch, like it would not be for another two years or something. Either way, it's gotten out of hand. It's the same stuff over and over again, and the whole mythology within the series is too convoluted. You'd have to watch all the previous installments back to back to have any idea what the hell is going on with the current.

Donner Disputes Progress on LETHAL WEAPON 5 - Oct 14, 2008 - 04:36am
What and when was the last movie Gibson starred in? He's too busy being a crazy freak these days to be in front of the camera. Hmmm...but wasn't his character in Lethal Weapon supposed to be a crazy freak?

DVD Shopping Bag: Halloween Box Set - Oct 14, 2008 - 04:33am
A Nightmare on Elm Street 5-8? I'm guessing #8 is Freddy vs Jason? That really sucks about the Halloween box set though, I would get it if it was complete.

V Returning to Television? - Oct 10, 2008 - 03:58pm
The original miniseries ended with Julie secretly sending out a distress call to the stars in hopes that the "visitors" had enemies who might come to help. It's a shame nothing ever came from this idea with a follow up many years later. Perhaps the Visitor's enemies are even worse than they were, and it would have to be a human/visitor team up to stop this other menace. There's all kinds of directions they could go with this without having to reboot the whole series, but whatever. As for Heroes goes...you really can't explain Peter's powers as the writers themselves apparently have no idea! Like Peter from the future? How did he get scarred up when he has Clair's healing ability??? How could Nathan and Peter's mother have another child they know nothing about? (I guess she could have used the Haitian guy to erase their memories though).

DVD Shopping Bag: Facing the Faces of Death - Oct 08, 2008 - 01:32am
Razor is a stand alone movie and not part of season four. It takes place a little more than half way through season 2, so it wouldn't make any sense to have it in a season 4 box set. Not to mention Razor aired over four months before season 4 actually started. :)

Enchanted's Lima Leading Live-Action TOM THUMB - Oct 08, 2008 - 01:08am
I wonder if he'll have to tie a string onto his leg for the sex scene?

TV Feature Interview: Josh Gates Talks Destination Truth - Oct 02, 2008 - 02:08am
You guys have the patience and attention spans of a bunch of 10 year olds. Part of the show's fun is the adventure, or waiting to see if ANY kind of evidence turns up (and yes, there is at times a LITTLE). Of course they don't find a whole lot, if they did, it would be some huge television special sandwiched between news reports. The main problem is like what was stated...they give up too soon. But is that Josh's fault? Why are you trashing him? He bows to his bosses like we all do, and the budget isn't huge, so they have to allocate their time and money. It sucks, but it's completely rational. And no, they rarely say that something doesn't exist just because they didn't find it like Mr. Baloney seems to think. (yet he says he has watched the show?!?) Like I said, the fun is in the adventure of it, along with the humor of the cast and the exotic locations. If it's not your cup of tea...fine! But don't make it sound worse than it is just for the sake of negativity. Little Nell...do yourself a favor and watch an episode or two and make your OWN conclusions. No need to be like the many sheep on these forums, and you just MIGHT like it!

Box Office: Paramount Has An EAGLE EYE for Victory - Sep 29, 2008 - 05:45am
Don't let your obvious jealousy of him keep you away Dazzler, the movie was awesome with a nice semi SciFi twist halfway through. Shia did a great job, and totally made up for his role in Indiana Joke.

New Set Photos for Voorhees' FRIDAY - Sep 29, 2008 - 05:37am
I can't believe there are still people on here crying about how it should be Kane Hodder as Jason. Kane Hodder wasn't the first Jason by a long shot, nor was he the last...so no, saying he "is" Jason is a stretch.

Leaked Megatron Photos for TRANSFORMERS 2 Confirmed - Sep 24, 2008 - 08:58pm
Can't say I love it yet, but it's a hell of a lot cooler than the Cybertron jet form he had in the first movie! And yeah, like some others have said...movie Megatron doesn't care about "blending in" with the locals! I'm curious to see the action figure this form will have...

Whedon's DOLLHOUSE Halts Production for Scripts - Sep 11, 2008 - 01:07am
Nice to see he and the studio are really trying hard to make this a success. Joss rules!

Giant Robot Confirmed for TRANSFORMERS 2 - Sep 11, 2008 - 01:05am
I completely agree gualeyboy. I love the original series, but a number of the episodes were pretty bad. I think a lot of the crazy fans who hated the movie and wanted nothing but "G1" haven't seen the episodes recently and are blinded by nostalgia. It's hard to say about this rumor...kind of surprised to see it posted on here since it's ONLY a rumor. But I've seen some art work of one of the supposed Constructicons (HUGE dumptruck) and if that's really in the movie, then it's one of the most bad ass Decepticon designs so far! Might even please that Sony guy who likes to swallow stuff...

DARK KNIGHT Hitting Theaters Again in January - Sep 11, 2008 - 12:59am
Money whores. I guess it would be cool if they re-released it with extended scenes maybe, otherwise, who cares?

Hoffman Responds to Riddler Rumors - Sep 10, 2008 - 08:58am
"If you were really a fan you would want to star in one..." Uh, no. If someone enjoys something as a hobby or pastime, why would they want to make it their WORK??? It's important to enjoy what you do for a living, but having joys outside of work is important too. Hell, even porn stars get tired of their jobs and lose their joy in sex on occasion! (GASP!)

Fox Changing Strategies for Future Comic Films? - Sep 10, 2008 - 08:49am
What was wrong with Ben Affleck being Daredevil? Was his performance really that bad (seemed fine to me), or is it because it's "trendy" to knock him? Way too many sheep in fandom's pasture these days...

Pirates' Verbinski and Depp Lead Animated RANGO - Sep 10, 2008 - 08:29am
What a little whore! Does Burton know Depp is cheating on him like this?!?

Laird Updates on a Live-Action/CG TMNT Sequel - Sep 09, 2008 - 08:02pm
The Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, Transformers, Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Spiderwick Chron...it's going to be like a LOT of things.

Creator David Kirschner Updates on Darker CHILD'S PLAY - Sep 08, 2008 - 08:41pm
Seed of Chucky was fantastic, it just wasn't scary. Some people just didn't "get" the brand of humor used in the last two movies which is too bad, but a return to the horror roots will be welcome.

Maguire and Raimi Signed for SPIDER-MAN 4? - Sep 06, 2008 - 08:14pm
LOL...hmmm...that sounds so familiar Hanso, but I just can't put my grapple hook on it...

Aaron Eckhart Confirms Two-Face's Fate - Sep 03, 2008 - 10:49pm
If Two-Face was to live, then wouldn't that throw off the whole Batman the public enemy scapegoat thingy because "that's what Gotham needs" ending of the movie? Having him live after what he did would have changed the whole message of the movie.

Toy Maniac: Maniac Holiday Ornaments - Aug 29, 2008 - 02:35pm
All these ornaments are cool...but I only collect the Godzilla series from Carlton Cards...they kick ass! Each one has had sound effects and or light up action as well. Awesome just for display for collectors.

Adult Source Media Acquires More Hentai Classics - Aug 29, 2008 - 02:29pm
Let's give it up for tentacle rape porn!!! Umm...yeah!

DVD and Blu-Ray Details for INCREDIBLE HULK - Aug 29, 2008 - 02:25pm
There will be a "directors cut" or "extended cut" I guarantee you We'll just have to wait until the special editions are out of print, just like with most other releases. It will come...it will come...

New Set Videos Online for TRANSFORMERS 2 - Aug 29, 2008 - 02:15pm
I hate to burst everyone's bubble here, but that Arcee concept art is from the FIRST MOVIE. She was indeed supposed to be featured in the film, but as with many things, that idea was eventually changed. That robot and cycle mode IS what was used for design of the action figure that was released with the other movie toys though. Again, that is NOT a concept pic from Transformers 2! I'm not even sure why that picture was chosen for this post. Arcee IS again rumored to be in the sequel, but we do not know if they will keep her first film designs or have something new all together. So simmer down boys...

TRANSFORMERS Revisit Military Base - Aug 28, 2008 - 01:12am
Wait a minute...Sonyman...you expected Indy 4 to be great?!? Based on WHAT??? The trailer clearly showed how cheesy the movie was going to be.

Kristen Bell Lends Voice in ASTRO BOY - Aug 25, 2008 - 11:59am
Good Lord...what a bunch of catty old queens this morning!

DVD Review of Starship Troopers 3: Marauder - Aug 25, 2008 - 11:51am
This movie was actually tolerable until the ending...the whole finding religion angle was played out so over the top it was hilarious! I did like the new scorpion bug (for the whole two short scenes it was in?!?) and the crazy infomercials though. And we FINALLY got to see the exosuits in action...something that should have been in the first movie. Bad movie, but I've seen lots worse.

DVD Review of Transformers Cyberton: The Ultimate Collection - Aug 18, 2008 - 06:10am
Boy Dazzler, you're really missing out on some great stuff from the Beast Wars era with that attitude! I'm really surprised they haven't released the Energon set yet, as they already have Armade, and Energon comes between the two. Doesn't make any sense. Being one that doesn't watch much TV unless it's on DVD, I didn't get to see any of these during their first runs, so I'm looking forward to it. I just hope they're better than Armada was. That show was painfully awful!

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS - Aug 15, 2008 - 03:04am
Wait...isn't this the first few episodes of the new TV series? If so, then maybe some of those "missed opportunities" are just story plots for further down the episode list. Is the article's author even aware this is the beginning of a TV series?!? Which also brings me to why I don't want to see this in theaters. Why should I pay $8 to see it in a theater when I was SUPPOSED to be seeing it on cable which I'm already paying for? I tired of giving in to the money whores, so I'll pass for now.

HARRY POTTER 6 Pushed to July 2009 - Aug 15, 2008 - 02:49am
I love it when you post hanso, I always look forward to the intelligence and class.

Belyaev's AMPHIBIAN Coming to the Big Screen - Aug 12, 2008 - 07:05pm
Filch...Benchly's White Shark was actually already adapted into a made for television two part movie in the late 90's, but renamed Creature. Though with that said, a big budget theatrical version could be welcome.

Box Office: DARK KNIGHT Takes Down The Pineapple - Aug 11, 2008 - 02:43am
I disagree that we should completely disregard the inflation numbers, they do factor into things TO A DEGREE. But...something to remember, is that half of the movies on the list, if not more, are totaling their numbers after MULTIPLE RELEASES. Movies didn't come out on home video six months after theatrical release like they do now days...hell, many of the movies on that list weren't available on any kind of home video for decades! Instead they would re-release them every year or so in theaters and add more numbers to their tally. So with that in mind, you can't really compare many of the movies on that list and still be fair.

2-Hour Special BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Planned in 2009 - Aug 10, 2008 - 03:30am
Though I agree that Razor was kind of pointless in the grand scheme of the story...I still enjoyed the hell out of it. Especially seeing the classic Cylons (both silver and gold) and their classic style ships. And why does everybody on here seem to hate Helo? He's an honorable character and a lot more likable than goody-goody pants Lee.

The Fallen Takes On TRANSFORMERS - Jul 30, 2008 - 01:12am
I really doubt we'll be seeing Unicron in the new movies, so expect The Fallen's background to be changed up a bit. And if anyone's interested, I believe his story mentioned story is taken from the comic book series, Transformers: The War Within, which offers an alternate take on the Transformers beginnings. (as opposed to what G1 fans would remember from the cartoon series). And as far as the new Transformers Animated series goes...the animation is kind of ugly, but you get used to it quickly. If you give it a fair chance (2-3 episodes) you'll find the characters are fun, the stories well thought out, and some of the new designs pretty cool. Megatron's new Earth form is completely bad ass, vehicle and robot both!

Mania on this Day: Punisher Targets, Voltron Delays and Spock Surprises - Jul 29, 2008 - 12:37am
Didn't Thomas Jane walk away because the sequels were supposed to be lower budget direct to video releases? If that's the case, then it sucks because Jane is an underrated actor and I usually enjoy his movies. Would also suck because after they sign on someone else, they decide to boost the budget and shoot for a big release. IF that is really what happened...

Toy Maniac: The Necessity Syndrome - Jul 17, 2008 - 10:27pm
I did indeed have the Shogun Warriors Godzilla toy, and I loved it very much! The firing fist actually scared me as a kid because that thing shot off so hard. I remember a couple times hitting myself in the face during play! I only wish they had kept the original Japanese mold for the U.S. release though. Originally, the toy had dorsal spines more accurate to the real Godzilla...but the spines were tearing apart the U.S. packaging during testing, so they opted for the generic small dragon spikes. So sad! A great figure though, especially if you can find the Rodan figure that was released as a sort of companion piece.

Top Maniacal News: Gort Destruction, Mummy Mum and Iron Holmes - Jul 11, 2008 - 03:21pm
Who are you guys to say no more Alien movies? Because if you think you're speaking for all Alien series fans, you're dead wrong. If you don't like something, don't watch it...but that doesn't mean somebody else wouldn't want to see it! I personally think Alien 3 was a brilliant film. (minus the lack of explanation as to how the alien egg got on board the ship in the first place!)

Columbia Protects Mytholoical Creatures in VETERINARIAN - Jul 11, 2008 - 01:12am
Well, when somebody says "a comic pitch", they ain't talking about a new comic book superhero movie. Yes, it would be a comedy. Why is everybody so quick to diss on it? Oh wait! Because it's COOL to trash talk online!

Whedon Travels to Cabin in the WOODS - Jul 08, 2008 - 02:10pm
Umm...wow. I've never seen someone put so much effort into posting a flame as "Whedon1". Did it take you long to create that account? Did they miss you at work? Oh wait...DO YOU WORK?

Sigourney Weaver Up for ALIENS 5 - Jul 05, 2008 - 02:26pm
This article really is old news...I've read similar interviews with Weaver several times in recent years and she always says the same thing. Personally, I think they should just leave her character alone. I wouldn't want to see Alien 3 or 4 made into dreams or ignored, because frankly, I thought Alien 3 was a beautiful way to end her legacy! Yes it was dark and depressing, but her sacrifice was amazing and very emotional. As for Alien Resurrection...I do wish it had never happened, but it did and I still enjoyed it. The effects were great and the whole look to the movie was awesome. Very artistic! My only complaint was that I wish it could have been another character instead of Ripley. I hated seeing her meaningful death give birth to an alien-Ripley hybrid with a touch of the crazies!

Matthew Fox Ready to Lead BILLY SMOKE - Jun 30, 2008 - 08:37pm
Blatchskree and Flint521466...your comments are moot. Are you jealous of his success or something? To say an actor would be a "nobody" if it werent for this or that...the same can be said for MOST actors. Without Transformers, Megan Fox would just be random Fox. Without Superman, Christopher Reeves would have been Christopher Who? Without X-Men, Hugh Jackman would probably just be Hugh "sing and dance" Man. So honestly...what's your point?

Box Office: WALL-E Victorious But WANTED Strikes Hard - Jun 29, 2008 - 01:14pm
It's true The Incredible Hulk's numbers aren't near what the studio was hoping for, I'm sure...but with a world wide total of just under $180 million...it certainly hasn't "flopped" like people are making it sound. Almost $30 million has already been made in profits, and it still has the whole home video market (where movies tend to make even more money than during their theatrical release) to be factored in yet. So while a bit disappointing, how is this negatively affecting executives? On the other hand, I do wonder WHY this movie isn't taking in larger numbers. The film was very fun! Maybe the Hulk just isn't a superhero the masses find appealing? I know some people who loved Iron Man, but said they had no interest in the Hulk because he's nothing more than "a giant green man screaming at the camera the whole time". Hmmm...maybe they marketed the film wrong in the commercials.

Stan Winston Passes Away at 62 - Jun 17, 2008 - 12:36am
I loved this man's work, and will miss him terribly. I pray his influence and teachings in animatronics and make-effects will survive the persistant all CGI threat.

TV Wasteland: The Greatest American Hero Flies Again, or Not. - Jun 17, 2008 - 12:32am
No way was I convinced she was dead. She's too popular with male viewers! Why would you smash your most beautiful flower in the garden?

Disney Grabs Sullivan's SCIENCE FAIR - Jun 17, 2008 - 12:27am
Are you kidding me?!? They paid Two Hundred and Seventy Five THOUSAND DOLLARS for a rip off of Night at the Museum?!? There truely aren't any new ideas in Hollywood anymore, no wonder everybody is on the remake bandwagon. Incase any studio is interested, I have a script finished called A Night at the Porn Shop, and centers on a magical store where all the toys and dolls come to life. I'm only asking 10K.

Lawrence Kasdan to Pen ROBOTECH - Jun 17, 2008 - 12:16am
I hate to say it, but I don't see how this can turn out well. Like others have mentioned, a multi film storyline should be the way to go...but even then, they will probably cut out too much character storyline to make way for flashy war special effects that sell tickets. If you don't FEEL for the characters, then it just isn't Robotech.

Columbia Bringing SMURFS To the Big Screen - Jun 10, 2008 - 02:50pm
I heard it with Transformers, I heard it with Alvin, I even heard it with Speed Racer...I can't wait to hear how many childhoods are "raped" after this one comes out.

Raimi Wants to Direct SPIDER-MAN 4? - Jun 06, 2008 - 03:03pm
Loved the first two Spiderman movies...just hope the fourth doesn't follow in the third's footsteps. As long as an enemy is well developed and given lots of mayhem to create, there DOES NOT NEED TO BE MORE THAN ONE PER MOVIE!!! All that does is fill in bad action scenes for good storytelling. Sandman was AWESOME and should have gotten his own film, and the whole venom storyline was way too compressed. Introduce the black suite in one movie, but then keep Venom until the very end to set up the next...don't cram it all in together! God how they dropped the ball... Anyways, there are still hopes, and no matter what, I'm sure a fourth one will still be fun.

TRANSFORMERS 2 Has a New Title & Set Details - Jun 06, 2008 - 12:55am
"The Constructicons are a sure thing..." LOL...no, I'm afraid NOTHING is a guarantee in a Bayformers movie! The final roster will be interesting, but there's no way of knowing just who will be on it yet.

Nine New Photos for MADAGASCAR 2 - Jun 04, 2008 - 08:41pm
I'm shocked at the warm reception this movie has with everybody here. I don't know why, but I found it tedious and unfunny, just trying to hop on the CGI Pixar bandwagon like so many other family films. Oh well...as long as people who paid to see it enjoyed it, then all is right with the world.

Shopping Bag: Richie, Scooby and Thundarr - Jun 03, 2008 - 01:11am
What a dirty trick! Don't put Thundarr in the title like that, you got me all excited for NOTHING! Also...The Machine Girl should be under horror, NOT cartoons and animation. It's a live action, VERY VIOLENT Japanese film about a school girl seeking revenge against her brother's killer...using a high powered machine gun fixed to her arm stub ala Planet Terror.

Box Office: INDY Cuts into CITY Victory - Jun 01, 2008 - 11:59pm
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed how strange it is that Sex in the City had a budget of $65 million. What the hell would they need that kind of a budget for?!? Decent special effects movies have been made for less! They must have paid those women WELL...

New Teaser Poster for WITCHBLADE - May 27, 2008 - 05:02pm
Umm...you guys...the article said NOBODY has been officially attached to this film yet. I really doubt any actresses have signed on, or we would have heard about it by now. The poster artwork is clearly an airbrush painting of a generic sexy female. IT'S NOT A PICTURE OF ANYBODY!

Box Office: Paramount Finds Memorial Day Treasure with INDY - May 25, 2008 - 11:57pm
Just got back from Indiana two hours ago. It was fun...good to see Indiana back on the big screen, but OMG there were some stupid parts! The whole atomic blast in the beginning was completely absurd, and should have been cut out. There's no way he would have survived that, NO WAY. The prairie dogs were amusing, but too fake to have been left in. The whole using a snake for a rope gag was hilarious to witness just because of Indy's fear of snakes, but was ridiculous (not to mention mean to the snake!). I guess one thing I didn't mind as much as others was the Shia swinging from the trees on vines part. I dunno, it looked silly, but it did have the Indy flavor all over it so I didn't let it bother me. Not to mention the scene was over so quick it didn't even matter. Definitely recommend the movie, but there's going to be a lot of groans and head shaking. I'm sure we have Lucas to thank for most of that since he co-wrote the screenplay...and it just oozed of his brand of cheese of late.

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL - May 22, 2008 - 01:17am
Jeeze Azultalon...before you go shouting out the details, let me at least zip up and give you your paycheck. BWAHA! Just kidding! Congrats though. I really hope the new Indy film is good...but like Scott says...I'm keeping my expectations low. It's got big shoes to fill!

Top 10 Worst Shows That Need a Remake - May 22, 2008 - 01:05am
Fun article and great list of shows needing to be revived! V and V The Final Battle will always be my favorite made for television events hands down. It's just too bad the weekly series was crapped out so quickly and with such a low budget...they really killed it! I'd rather see some sort of well done continuation over a remake though...the original V miniseries is absolutely perfect in every way. I would really like to see a new Manimal, Misfits of Science, and Greatest American Hero though. And until recently I would have wanted to add a new Bionic Woman or Six Million Dollar Man to the list...but then...uh...well...it happened, and it SUCKED! Thank God the new Galactica turned out so well.

DVD Review of Night of the Living Dead 40th Anniversary Edition - May 22, 2008 - 12:41am
No matter how many horror movies I watch (and there have been many!), this one still remains the creepiest of all. I'll be looking for this new release.

DVD Review of The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones Vol. 3 - May 21, 2008 - 11:20pm
The price of these box sets are completely absurd. I don't care how many mini documentaries are included...almost $80 for around 10 actual episodes per set is insane. Sorry Paramount, but until you stop trying to RAPE us with filler documentaries just so you can inflate the price, I (and many others I'm sure) will be content with downloads.

TV Review: LOST - Cabin Fever - May 13, 2008 - 01:37am
Alpert's strange ability to not age has already been covered with a previous episode. When we saw him meeting a very young Ben and introduces himself as one of the island natives, he was the same looking then as well. Not that they'll ever get around to explaining WHY... ;)

Third Indy Trailer Online - May 11, 2008 - 08:34pm
I can't wait...but I still say that's some of the worst blue screen I've seen since King Kong's dinosaur stampede. Every time it shows them fighting in those jeeps...YIKES... Oh well, it will still be fun.

San Diego Comic-Con Exclusives Revealed - May 11, 2008 - 04:21pm
Man, I wish other vendor booths would do the same thing! I had a bitch of a time trying to get the Hasbro Transformers exclusives last summer during preview night. Luckily the first day of the con was my Birthday and they let me have access without having to jump through the hoops others had to. I was a happy Transformers geek!

23.5 Degrees: Terribilis Est Locus Iste - May 10, 2008 - 01:47pm
Let's save the fantasy for the films, shall we?

TERMINATOR 4 is PG-13? - May 05, 2008 - 11:40pm
It cracks me up how fan boys over react. I recently watched T2 and T3 again, and neither had anything worthy of an R rating by todays standards, other than a few F-Bombs tossed around. Seriously, you see more gore watching CSI on TV.

Second INDY IV Trailer Online! - May 05, 2008 - 12:06am
When we saw Iron Man today, they only showed the first trailer for Indy 4, so I was very disappointed. At least Iron Man itself kicked ass though. And just wondering, but do the special effects in Indy 4 look not so good to anyone else? Especially all the scenes where they are driving vehicles? OMG it looks terrible! Bad blue screen or green screen effects just don't live up to the good old days of actual driving stunts. It saddens me to see yet another good film overtaken by CGI over use.

Universal Unleases New HD HULK Trailer - May 01, 2008 - 02:40am
Looks very cool...but some of the CGI was a little on the cartoony side. I think it's when they make Hulk move so fast...it just looks like a cartoon instead of something with real weight and mass. Why do CGI animators keep doing this???

First Victors for Mania Monster Madness - Apr 25, 2008 - 02:13pm
Mlaforcer...I agree that Voldermort would off Joker in an instant (not to mention just find some way to come back for revenge IF shot down!), but I do believe Vader would kill Kong. All he'd have to do was use the Vader choke grip and the monkey would die from a distance! Freddy would kill Predator while he slept. Godzilla would either squish Damian or vaporize him with his radioactive ray...and it doesn't matter WHO Damian's father is, hell his human father almost killed him in the first movie with a knife hadn't the police shot him in the back! As for Magneto vs Cloverfield monster...we just don't know enough about the Clover's abilities or strengths. Is it impervious to projectiles and heat like Godzilla? Cause if not, then Magnet could easily shred it apart with some sharp metal scrap. heheheh...we're all such dorks.

NFF: Trailer Park of Terror - Apr 23, 2008 - 11:59pm
I saw the trailer for this awhile back, and thought it looked fun. Seriously though, I'm not sure how anyone can go into this film and expect greatness! I want something campy, corny, and gory...hopefully it will fit the bill.

Exclusive: NYCC Incredible Hulk Interviews & Panel - Apr 21, 2008 - 04:49pm
I saw the trailer for The Incredible Hulk last night in front of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. EVERYBODY LAUGHED...!?!? Maybe the world isn't ready for another Hulk film after all?

Cinema Of Fear 7inch Series 3 - Apr 13, 2008 - 10:30am
Freddy's outfit is silly, but that was from the best scene in the whole movie. Forcing an anorexic girl to eat her own guts? NICE! And New Nightmare and Elm Street 5 were both far from the worst of the series...that title would belong to Freddy's Dead. No continuity with the previous films...cameos by a crazy Tom and Rosanne Arnold, and Alice Cooper as Freddy's father...AND a lame 3-D ending, where the star of the movie actually puts on 3-D glasses in order to enter Freddy's world?!? LOL...the other films were art work! Yes, I'm a Freddy geek and proud of it.

CLOVERFIELD - Apr 12, 2008 - 11:33am
I guess I just don't understand what people were wanting out of this film? The only "point" being missed here, is that the movie...the entire movie...AS STATED IN THE OPENING SCENE OF THE FILM...was nothing more than camcorder footage found on a single camcorder, recovered from the rubble after the attack. Camcorder footage does not equal a typical Hollywood story with a beginning, middle, and all wrapped up at the end with all questions answered? Who cares if the guy who shot the footage was a dork? Is there some rule saying a dork cannot hold a camera? Some law I'm missing? How could this movie possibly have had better cinematography and still be representing camcorder footage taken by a freaked out average Joe?

ALVIN Slices Sweeney in DVD Race. - Apr 10, 2008 - 10:48am
I didn't find Alvin "sh*tty" at all...in fact, I thought it was pretty well done and kept the spirit of the classic albums and cartoons perfectly. Why do people act like they have to hate on something just because it's kid friendly?

THE RUINS - Apr 06, 2008 - 02:20pm
Spoilers... Saw this movie last night and really liked it. The effects were good, and the gore was top notch! Characters were actually good too, as I wasn't too annoyed by any of them like I usually am in horror movies. The gore is pretty extreme once it gets going though, so not for the squeamish. My only real problem with the movie was the man eating plants. There were done fairly well, but the whole way they killed left me wondering. Some points in the movie they are very active...violently persuing their prey, other times doing nothing at all. Some times they are acting like scavengers...preying on the dead or amputated limbs...other times trying to attack healthy people. It just didn't have much continuity in their behaviors.

Ray Stevenson Talks PUNISHER - Apr 06, 2008 - 02:10pm
No Joey, the Dolph Punisher was NOT better than Thomas Jane's. The violence was cartoony and Dolph was just not right for the character. Say what you might about Travolta's role in the last movie, but Jane did a fine job.

TRANSFORMERS 2 Prepping for Production - Apr 03, 2008 - 01:12am
After having seen the first "live action" movie 8 times, I never want to see it again, and am ready for a new one! Now that the Allspark excuse for a plot is over with, maybe we can get into some real robot action and story lines? I do wonder if Optimus will stay the same though, or will he get a new vehicle form halfway through the movie? His toy is a cash cow for Hasbro (as Bumblebee)...so I see them wanting new molds for the returning characters. I suspect they will change "disguises" at some point, bringing forth a whole slew of new toys. It would be cool to see Prime take on a fire truck mode as seen in several of the animated series.

Julie Benz Toplines SAW V - Mar 26, 2008 - 08:52am
The last Saw film was a crap fest excuse to drag the already done and over with story on for more money. "MOOOOO" says the cash cow, "MOOOO!" And now after my disappointment, and my vowing to only see the next installment on home video (or FREE!)...they go and hire one of my favorite actresses from the Buffyverse...damn them! They knew just how to suckle me back into those overpriced theater seats.

First Look at G.I Joe's SNAKE EYES - Mar 21, 2008 - 02:50pm
Sonymanswallows...please don't get your hopes up. Because when the movie comes out, and your dreams are bashed against the rocks...it will be nothing but eight months of "G.I. Pigs"!

Supernatural's Padalecki Leads FRIDAY Remake - Mar 21, 2008 - 02:47pm
Hmmm...I wonder if talks between this actor and the new movie producers are what sparked some of the rumors of Jason appearing on Supernatural from a few months back. Off course the rumors were false...but I wonder if there is a connection? Anyways...Jared is a good actor, so I'm happy with this.

LOST: Ji Yeon - Mar 16, 2008 - 07:51pm
McKracken...the "woosh" sound effect was still only used for the flashbacks. They are used both for going into a flashback, as well as back out of it. The scene you are talking about had the effect during the start of Sun's scene, only because it was coming out of Jin's scene. I thought this episode was A+. LOVED IT.

LAKE DEAD - Mar 15, 2008 - 11:48pm
I saw a handful of last years films, and out of them, the only one I really enjoyed was Wicked Little Things. The scenes with those kids were actually pretty creepy. I don't remember the names of the other movies, because there was nothing worth remembering about them!

FUNNY GAMES - Mar 14, 2008 - 03:29am
Apparently I'm in the same boat as mlaforcer...because this review felt more like a college thesis than a movie review.

Smith Kids Ready for AMULET - Mar 14, 2008 - 03:15am
AxuLTaLoN, how can you visit a website dedicated to such genre films and news...and say that??? Mania used to be Cinescape...which specialized in science fiction and fantasy! That's like going to a porn site and yelling "oh please not another tit flick!" People who visit this site should welcome such things!

Gugino Helps Race to WITCH MOUNTAIN - Mar 14, 2008 - 03:06am
SPOILER WARNING...? lol, incase there is actually someone on here who hasn't seen the original. I hope this turns out well, the Witch Mountain films were some of my favorites growing up. I'm kind of sad they are including a lot of new UFO talk during the movie though, as the whole alien angle wasn't revealed until the very end of the first movie. There's nothing like mudding down the suprise ending for new young fans.

MUMMY Continues After Dragon Emperor? - Mar 11, 2008 - 12:43am
Could they possibly milk such a mediocre franchise any more? Apparently they can! Moooooo!

KILLER TOMATOES Set to Attack Again - Mar 11, 2008 - 12:42am
Are you sexual intercourse kidding him?

Wait for It... - Mar 11, 2008 - 12:40am
Bob, I hope you were kidding about the Young Indiana Jones volumes being a "reasonable price"! One hundred dollars per volume is pure greed...and a greed that keeps all the FREE ILLEGAL DOWNLOADS in high circulation!
