Lying in the Gutters, Rich Johnson's popular column that tracks gossip inside the comic book industry, reports this week that NOCTURNALS writer/artist Dan Brereton has been tapped to paint a dozen covers for upcoming comic books based on Screen Gems' UNDERWORLD movie.
Brereton's best known in the comic book world for his creator-owned horror series THE NOCTURNALS, a Halloween-themed group of scary individuals who fight things that go bump in the night. He has also worked for DC Comics, Dark Horse and Marvel.
UNDERWORLD is set for release in September and stars Kate Beckinsale as Selene, a vampire who falls for one of her kind's sworn enemies, a werewolf (played by Scott Speedman.) This is the first news uncovered about plans for a comic book spinoff from the movie.
