Universal Deals with FAMILY BOND

I'm curious as to whether MGM---producers of the James Bond franchise--- will see eye-to-eye on this one. Universal Pictures has picked up a new family action-comedy spec centering on spies. What's the title of this spec? It's aptly called Family Bond, reports Variety. The spec was penned by Jeff Lowell and the studio has Miles Millar, Alfred Gough and Marc Platt set to produce through their Millar/Gough Ink and Marc Platt Production shingles.

Plot Concept:
The action comedy is described as a relationship story between a spy and his daughter.

Lowell recently made his directing debut on the New Line comedy Over Her Dead Body, which he also penned. He also wrote Fox's comedy John Tucker Must Die and Hotel for Dogs at DreamWorks.

I can't see this getting past MGM. A movie called "Family Bond" about a spy and his daughter? Too close, Universal. Not gonna work.

Plus the thought of Bond forming a relationship with any of his numerous illegitimate daughters is almost laughable... Unless he mistakenly seduces... yeah, nevermind. That's just gross.

Maybe if they called it Family bond, without the capital letter???

Sounds cheesy. I'll be surprised if this doesn't wind up getting lost in Development Hell.

I liked it better when it was called True Lies, Spy Kids?

I'm sick and tired of some new film or TV production involving a single parent and a DAUGHTER!

How about something involving two parents and a SON?! The girl-kick-ass stuff is very tiresome.
