Universal Gets TORTURED

Universal Pictures has signed a deal with Clive Barker and Todd McFarlane to produce a film based on the CLIVE BARKER'S TORTURED SOULS -- ANIMAE DAMNATAE action figure line.
The pair are said to have sealed a mid-six-figure sum against well over $2M for the concept.
Currently, Barker is at work on writing a treatment for the film, which is based on the novella he wrote, which had been serialized with each of the figures. The characters are Talisac, Lucidique, Scythe-Meister, Agonistes, Mongroid and Venal Anatomica.
Barker and MacFarlane will both produce the project with Joe Daley and Terry Fitzgerald taking on co-producer duties.
