
Universal has picked up the U.S. distribution rights to David Lynch's MULHOLLAND DRIVE. The film, which had originally been created as a pilot for the ABC TV network (who also broadcasted his TWIN PEAKS), but the network balked. France's Canal came forward an offered to finance a revised version of the pilot, the final version of which gained some positive pub at this year's Cannes Film Fest.
The film will be released under the studio's Universal Focus banner in the fall.
