Universal Sets Ford as Fraser's son for M3

Rob Cohen and Universal Pictures have hired Luke Ford to star in THE MUMMY 3. 

He will play Alex O'Connell, the son of adventurer Rick O'Connell, who journeys into the forbidden tombs of China and into the Himalayas, where they run into a new shape-shifting mummy, a former Chinese emperor who was cursed by a female wizard.

Jet Li will play the mummy. Michelle Yeoh will play the wizard.

Filming will start in Montreal on July 27th. The film is set to open in July 2008.

Luke Ford? I know its minor but how the hell are they going to explain away the English accent the kid had in the last flick, not to mention the mother?

I`m not a big Rob Cohen fan. He`s all crazy stunts and flare but no content. He is like Michael Bay`s bastard son.

This film had potential back when it wasn't supposed to feature a mummy at all. Now it's shot. This will be crap.

I must agree with you guys, too. The only Rob Cohen movies I did like were Daylight and Dragonheart.

I'm glad to see Michelle Yeoh in this, too. She's terrific. Cohen's movies aren't usually very good, but I always find them fun to watch. I'm looking forward to seeing this, although it won't be the same without Weisz.

The only way I'll see this in a theater is if I hear good things from friends. Otherwise, it joins my Netflix queue.

I'm not sure who this guy is. When I google him I also get reference to a porn star. Can't tell if the movie will be good or not. I'm mainly disappointed Rachel Weisz won't be in it.

The chemistry between Weisz and Fraser was what made the movies interesting. Without her, I don't think this film will be memorable.
