Universal Tells Ferrell to Get LOST

Universal Pictures has signed Will Ferrell star in the big screen version of LAND OF THE LOST. The film is based on the television series that ran from 1974 to 1977.

Sid and Marty Krofft will produce. ANCHORMAN'S Adam McKay will direct from a script by Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas.

The series revolved around forest ranger Rick Marshall and his children, Will and Holly, who are caught in a time vortex while rafting on the Colorado River and transported to a mysterious world populated by dinosaurs.

I know everyone is reporting this, but I can't shake the feeling that this is a hoax. Farrell played a character named Marshall Willenholly in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back". It's just too strange that he would be cast as Marshall in this. And his involvement (along with Henchy and McNicholas) means this isn't a "remake" so much as a parody.

I agree. It would be a real dissapointmrnt if this wasnt taken seriously. I loved that show growing up!

The girl they cast as Holly must be super hot. I expect some kick azz Sleastacks, too!
