WATCHMEN game for you iPhone, iPod Touch

From a press release

Burbank, Calif., March 2, 2009 – Warner Bros. Digital Distribution have announced Watchmen: Justice is Coming, an online multiplayer game for the iPhone and iPod Touch based on the upcoming film Watchmen, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Legendary Pictures. Available from the iTunes App Store this March, Watchmen: Justice is Coming will take iPhone gaming to a new level allowing players to battle in realistic 3D environments and visualize changes to the world in real time.

Watchmen: Justice is Coming is a multiplayer online adventure fighting game developed by Last Legion Games exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game will use “cloudMMO,” Last Legion's patent pending cloud based multiplayer technology that leverages Web Services allowing players to adventure through the incredible world of Watchmen. Players will experience an ever-changing gaming environment, chat with other players and participate in street battles.

In Watchmen: Justice is Coming, players bring their own unique form of justice to New York City in the 1970s before the film’s central story unfolds. Masked adventuring has been outlawed. During this critical time period, crime is rampant and average citizens must take matters into their own hands to survive. Players create their personal avatar and enter the rain-soaked city of Manhattan. The dark metropolitan world is a vast network of interlocking and overlapping spaces that include: the seedy and saturated neon Red Light District; a run down Financial District and its dark waterfront; the downtown back-alleys of Lower Manhattan; a wide open City Park; and more.

An original story inspired by director Zack Snyder’s big screen version of Watchmen, which is based on the graphic novel illustrated and co-created by Dave Gibbons, Watchmen: Justice is Coming leads players on an immersive adventure inside the depths of the Watchmen universe. Average citizens evolve into fully equipped costumed avengers by completing unique challenges, exploring the universe and battling enemies.

Watchmen fans can visit for updates on the game and to read Last Legion’s blog.

First Look STREET ANGEL Movie

The film will feature an animated sequence modeled on artwork by Rugg himself. Hit the link for a first look!

WATCHMEN Controversy: Lee Iacocca

The following story contains 'Watchmen' SPOILERS so we'll spare you some of the details. Click through to the original write-up on MTV Splash Page if you don't mind the spoilers.

The new Zack Snyder movie features a fictionalized version of real world automotive icon Lee Iacocca, who rescued Chrysler from the brink of ruin in 1980s. Needless to say, the movie Iacocca is presented in a satirical manner that the real Iacocca may not appreciate.

MTV contacted Iacocca's reps and found out they knew little to nothing of the movie. Indeed, when MTV broke the news to Iacocca's people about how he's handled in the film they seemed somewhat displeased and have requested a screening of the film and an explanation from Warner Bros.

Check out MTV's complete report.

The Green Lantern animated movie is looking pretty sweet. I will definitly pick this one up.

I already pre-ordered my ticket for WatchMen. I'll be there on opening day.

SONYMANswallows 3/3/2009 9:10:12 PM

OWL MAN ? What the FUCK?  So Is this WB's piss poor attempt to incorporate WATCHMEN  into the kids minds? This stinks worse than Rush Limbaugh's yeast infected snatch.

I mean a doppleganger from a different world? Is Dr. Mahattan leading the Legion of Douche? These fucking writers arebt even trying anymore. Ithey fucked up Ted Kord and jusy keep insisting on making cartoons dumber and dumber for kids. This isnt creative its just another way to avoid paying the creators of real characters with original ideas. I am shocked that they are using Black Manta  and not R. Kelly as Black manta aka Devil Ray from JLUncreative.

At least Justice League Final Frontier gave us something watchable and respectable.

Wiseguy 3/4/2009 11:47:20 AM

Big GL fan, still wish they'd opted for the traditional costume all around.

Chopsaki 3/4/2009 12:08:40 PM

I really liked how they equated the new Green Lantern cartoon to the movie Training day, interesting stuff. Im looking forward to seeing it.

Batjoe 3/4/2009 6:06:40 PM

I have been a Bat fan for as long as I could walk, If it were not for the Light Hearted Batman show of the 60's or the silly Superfriends cartoon, there is no telling how I would have gotten to know about Batman. Now I have 3 kids of my own. They couldn't sit through a long and violent Movie like the Dark Knight So I am happy that cartoons like "The Batman" and Batman Brave and the Bold" are around so my kids can enjoy Batman like I did growing up. Don't Get me wrong I love the Dark Knight Version of Batman.
Now on to "Owlman" He is not a takeoff of the man In Watchmen that character is actually called Night Owl and is based on The Blue Beatle not Batman. In a parallel earth that was established way back in the 60's, 20 yrs before Alan Moore wrote Watchmen, Owlman, Ultraman, Superwoman and the Power Ring were villains that fought their Earths only Hero named Alexander Luther.

kwsupes 3/4/2009 9:12:13 PM

I agree with Batjoe that you are way off Sonyman. The Earth2 graphic novel which came out a few years ago had yet another story involving Owlman, Johnny Quick, Superwoman, and Ultraman. So there is no lack of creativity going on here. Batman: The Brave and the Bold is awesome, so back off man.

Wallace85 3/5/2009 3:45:01 PM

Wow that GL animated film looks goooood definitely be picking that up when it comes out.

Ha ha ha I didn't even realize that was suppose to be Lee Iacocca ha ha well sucks for him he gets killed in that alternate universe ha ha. Man that clip convinced me that Goode is an excellent choice for Veidt,Goode can be a very an intense actor. Just watch him in the Lookout.
