Make-up effects wizard Rick Baker is back in territory he knows well with a new "werewolf" design coming in Universal's The Wolfman, a remake of the classic horror. The man who brought together the transformation in American Werewolf in London had his new design spotlighted over at Entertainment Weekly. The upcoming horror film, set for Feb. 13, 2009, will star Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving.

Its not posted here but one of those photos he looks like he has an afro.
I'm at least glad to see they didn't go the CGI Van Helsing route with it...so far.
that makeup is 100% better than in the original film in fact, its reminicant of American Werewolf In London only with a shorter snout... I LOVE IT!
honestly i didnt mind the CGI "werewolf" in Van Helsing, it was the CGI transformation sequence that I didnt like...1) ripping off the skin to reveal the werewolf was stupid and 2) having the transformation from wolf to human whenever the moon was obscured by clouds was stupid.
but anyway, we're not here to discuss Van Rip-Off...I'm going to use THIS image as my new background image on my computer!
thanks guys!!!!
That picture looks great. Baker's still the man when it comes to werewolf makeup. I like the shorter snout; keeps him human-looking. Looking forward to this. Del Toro was born for this role. I always liked the work Baker did on Wolf back in the 90s. Is the transition between man and wolfman going to include any CG, or are they using all makeup?
hopefully only mechanical and makeup effects, Wessmith, especially since this is supposed to be a period piece in London. All that hair would drive the 3d animators ape shit crazy (as if they werent already) LOL!!!
