Up to 800 in Norwegian Hobbit Village

New Zealand's STUFF Web site reports that the previously-noted here Norwegian Hobbit village, populated by LORD OF THE RINGS fans braving subzero weather while waiting for tickets, reached a population of about 800 the night before tickets went on sale.

25-year old Sverre Munderheim, a postman, is described wearing "a homemade jacket of 26,000 steel rings and carrying a weapon of two steel balls with spikes chained to a piece of wood."

The postman is quoted as being unconcerned about the unlikelihood of obtaining tickets, as his place in line is too far back. "It doesn't matter. The experience of being here makes up for it."
