Upcoming film JUMPER to be a trilogy?

By: Karl Schneider

According to Sci Fi Wire, the upcoming 20th Century Fox film JUMPER will be a trilogy and not a stand alone film.

"This is such a big story to tell, we're now thinking about it as a trilogy of movies," said producer Lucas Foster. "You can't tell all of this in one film."

The film stars Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Bell and Max Thieriot and follows Christensen's character, a troubled young man who discovers he can teleport himself by merely thinking about it.

Doug Liman (Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith) is directing the film for the studio. The film is expected in theaters next year.

Insert comments on the evil of Hollywood and it's lack of origionality, How it sucks the life from small children and rots the brain of all it touches, how it is so devoid of new ideas that it takes a book and turns it into a film "because that's never happened before", I mean come on how dare they make it a trilogy.... trilogies can only be Star wars films, prequels and any movie with "The Lord of the" attached to it, Damn them forcing us to pay to see movies, they all suck and we hate them AAAAAAARRRRRGGHHHHHHHHHHHH, you know the usual comments below.

Interesting. So I would assume that they are going to take both of the novels (Jumper and Reflex) and make a trilogy out of them? I can see two movies only being made, in the vein of Kill Bill. The 2nd Novel alone can be made into one movie. I wonder how they will approach this. Either way, I am psyched to see this adaptation.

Maybe dax and madmanic could star in a remake of the Odd Couple. Or, better yet, a prequel to the original Odd Couple!
