Update: Oil Platform destroyed by CLOVERFIELD Monster

Update: I understand that our comment section has been taken by a new troll on the loose but I'll update it none the less. A new English version of the clip below has popped up online.

Previous Article: It's been known that Tagruoto.jp has been a viral site for Cloverfield for quite sometime now and apparently the tie-in has been used as of this moment. The site issued a fake press release stating that one of their oil platforms has had an "incident", complete with video footage of the "faux news". I couldn't understand the specific news cast because I don't speak Italian but the footage seems clear on what happened. The monster on its track to the states caused mayhem for Tagruoto..

Here's the fake press release issued by the site.

There has been an altercation at the Chaui Station. Although details are limited at present time, be assured that Tagruato is taking every measure necessary to ensure the safety and well being of all staff and crew. Specialty teams have been deployed, and are working aggressively to restore harmony at the site.

Here's the video footage of the faux Italian news cast, complete with the destruction of the oil platform. There's also Spanish and German versions.

Cloverfield will hit theaters January 18, 2008.
