UPDATE: The ultimate ALIEN QUADRILOGY boxed set

If you were one of the many North American DVD owners who rushed out to purchase Fox's ALIEN QUADRILOGY boxed set but were less than thrilled with the so-called accordian style packaging, you may want to think about calling in a favor if you know anyone living in Japan. Fox Home Video is preparing to release the nine-disc QUAD set in the land of the rising sun and one of the shelf storage sets the company is offering consumers is a replica of the Alien's head, to be used as a storage unit for the discs!

The Digital Bits was the first to bring it to our attention, but the story is fast sprouting across the web. Since we can't read Japanese we can't tell you how much the set is or if it's a limited edition but we do know one thing: it's damn cool.

The next problem to solve after "How do we get one?" is "How will it fit on the shelf?" First things first...

UPDATE!: Thanks to a reader that understands Japanese, the price listed for the Alien Head Box Set on the page we've linked to is 29,800 Yen -- which works out to about $282 bucks.
