Updated: A new video has appeared over at Yahoo UK featuring the intro to the movie. I'm told that the clip was shortened down to around 5 minutes but the scene may be a bit longer in the film version. In basics, this is the beginning of the film where you will see things pick up after the first film's ending and you will see the Predator planet that was linked in photo form below.

Yahoo's Holiday Movie Guide has given us our first look at the new "Predator Planet" as it will be appearing in ALIENS VS. PREDATOR:REQUIEM. To check out that photo as well as some other cool screenshots of aliens and predators in the film, click the link above or just click on the photo to the left. The upcoming R-rated sequel, directed by the Strause Bros., stars Reiko Aylesworth, Steven Pasquale, John Ortiz, Shareeka Epps, Johnny Lewis, Sam Trammell and David Paetkau.

Plot Summary: In this follow-up to the worldwide hit "Alien vs. Predator," the iconic monsters from two of the scariest film franchises ever, wage war in an American Midwestern town – with the residents caught in the middle.

ALIENS VS. PREDATOR:REQUIEM will hit theaters Christmas Day.

Creators and designers only focus on visual, The planet must be beautiful, but we all know it doesn t make sens. We all know that if any species have natural defense, they can t be intelligent, that s why the mankind rules the world, because we don t have big teeth or crow or whatever, we have the brain. Now they create a species, Predator, who have the natural defense of the primitive specise, but also fucking smart to design and transform the environement...doesn t make sens ! Aliens specise have more credibility, they don t arrive driving a space ship...

This POS is going to suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!

First off, that planet doesn't show any of the same design elements we saw in the Predator ships from the original movies.

Second, why do they insist on showing all these lame photos of the Predalien? That one where it's leering over a screaming woman looks hilarious--it's like it's got little crab claws and it's saying "Rrrrowwrrr! I'm going to PINCH you! PINCH you! Rrrowwrr!"

If someone just had a crab mallet and some butter, that woman would be saved!

I'm sure this flick will be visually stunning, the action sequences will totally rock. The story may be interesting, the characters may be interesting, but it's clearly become a moneymaking franchise. Movies that are made for the sake of making a few bucks are always disappointing to fans of the original source material. As long as we keep feeding these kinds of movies, they'll keep getting made. After all, who gives a shit about a little thing like "continuity" if the movie's gonna make money anyway?

Alien was a fantastic original idea. Nobody jumped on the bandwagon for a sequel for something like eight years, then James Cameron brought an awesome sequel with new ideas to the table.

After that, it was all about the money. So AFAIC, Aliens was the last movie in the series.

Predator, OTOH was never anything but a moneymaking venture. A vehicle for Ahnuld to flex his muscles and look all military. The fact that they accidentally wrote a halfway decent story was secondary. I took it as a gift. Predator 2 licked the sweat off of monkey balls and that was that.

I'll wait for the video - and even then, I'll wait until I'm desperate for something I haven't seen. Then I'll be all disappointed because this will not be anything we haven't all seen before. Having the movie take place in modern day instead of the future is just ridiculous; it completely ignores the continuity. It's a bigwig producer saying, "Fans? Storyline? Creativity? Who gives a fuck about that? Let's talk about something important, like dollars! I'm talking about dollars here!"

At least the first AVP TRIED to fit it in the continuity. Sort of.

Okay I'm rambling. Kirk out.

Guess we won't see any of you three at the movie then. Oh well....

Come see the "R" rated movie! That's a good way to advertise. Sci-fi movies are scarce in the theaters so I am there.

Not related to AvP:R but for all those interested in Cloverfield, you might want to check this site out.

This movie is going to be a lot of fun! I don't know if it's going to be a "good" movie, but it's going to be everything the first movie wasn't and should have been. Nothing's going to replace the first Predator and the first two Alien movies, they're sci-fi/horror classics, but I really think this movie is going to surprise the naysayers.

wessmith I totally agree with you. And continuity doesn't necessarily have to be affected. Somebody else (sorry, I can't give proper credit) mentioned that they could easily have this episode covered up by the military. Which in turn would hint at why it seemed that the company knew something in part two.
