That had to be a Bird of Prey flying around...

The villain Benedict Cumberbatch is playing is named Jonathan Harrison. I have no reason at this point to believe that is disinformation.

However... the amount of secrecy around this movie definitely suggests that something has been concealed. After all, Nero was a new villain, and there wasn't half the secrecy surrounding his identity.

My feeling is that there will be a larger character (working behind the scenes perhaps) who is pulling Harrison's strings a'la Thanos in The Avengers. I'm 100% certain that there's a "reveal" in the movie...

That last line about Kirk doing anything for his family gives me the impression that it is not Spock on the wrong side of the glass this time, but Kirk. I think the iconic shot of their hands meeting is the reverse this time. I get the feeling that we see Kirk die this time around and in part 3 we may see him as the subject of the Genesis project. Since Alice Eve is already confirmed to be Carol Marcus this would make some sense to me. While I think Cumberbatch is not BSing about playing John Harrison, I still think Khan is behind everything. I think Harrison is one of Khan's supermen considering the abilities he seems to have in the trailers.

The fact that so many of you are quessing and hoping for something (only to be let down as usual) means that ya'll have fallen for the cobbled together image hype that is created by the abrams marketing machine.

"We tried it before your way, now you're game for a rematch... I laugh at the superior intellect."

I don't think anyone dies to be honest. They will show that hand window scene to make everyone think that, but Abrams is gonna twist it up and no one is gonna die cuz it's a different reality.

imo, it would be pretty lame to copy the original movie and have Spock or Kirk die, and then have to bring them back again in some ridiculous way.

Khan's been done.  Mitchell would be neat, since we are going back to the original Star Trek Series.  Doesn't make sense for it to be Khan if the bad guy is from within Starfleet, but Gary Mitchell was in Starfleet.  Knowing J.J. Abrams, he has created his own character, combining Khan and Gary Mitchell together.  That's a great idea, considering this is an alternate universe.  It kinda fits to make alternates of those characters.  Also, I noticed the little mimicing of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Spock death scene, when he makes the Vulcan hand gesture against the glass, and Kirk is too broken up to do it...  Yeah, something big is going down.  Maybe this time it will be the other way around.  Kirk dies.  Spock will find a way to ressurect him in the next movie.  Afterall, I remember the line from Star Trek 3, when Spock says to Kirk, "My, father says you came back for me."  And Kirk replies, "You would have done the same for me."  It'd be interesting to play on those words.  At any rate, after watching the 9 minute preview of Star Trek II, I am salivating heavily to watch this movie!  J.J. didn't let me down in the first movie, and he won't disappoint me in the next.

Does anyone know how long the 9 minutes of Star Trek footage will continue to be shown ahead of 'The Hobbit' movie?
