V Returning to Television?

ABC is developing a new adaptation of "V," the 1980s miniseries about alien lizards visiting Earth, reports Variety. The original series churned out a second miniseries and TV spin-off — written by "The 4400" co-creator/executive producer Scott Peters. Warner Bros. TV, which was behind the original, is once again producing the project, which was sold as a spec script to ABC. Peters is set to executive produce, along with HDFilms principal Jace Hall.

Plot Concept: The new "V" will center on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son who's got problems. When the aliens arrive, her son gloms on to them — causing tension within the family. As in the original "V," several storylines will unfold simultaneously. The show will open with an enormous army of spaceships hovering over the world's major cities. The visitors say they've come to help Earth, but their motives are nefarious.

Would be cool to just continue the 80's stuff.

Not bad. I don't mind a remake or continuation of the series. It would have to kinda be both seeing as some people didn't watch it at the time. Just please have decent shuttle craft seens..... sigh goyyygggghh. And bring back some of the old characters...if they are still alive that is!

Mousie, Mousie where are you mousie?

Ken Johnson the original guy who made the first mini-series and didn't want anything to do with the mess that was the 2nd one (the final battle) just wrote a book that was the REAL conclusion the original mini-series and I thought it was okay. So I don't know if continuing it is the way to go. A lot of people will have never read his book so you would have to continue it on the final battle which really sucked and didn't leave a lot open at the end....

Maybe a remake would work but I wouldn't change the story, just update it from the 80's. Some of it is dated now.

I'll have some faith that Scott Peters will do some good writing. He wrote some good eps of "4400" and the newer "Outer Limits", which I was never unhappy with either series. I also have the newer Ken Johnson book, but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I do hope they bring back some of the original cast as well. Too bad they killed Ham off. Michael Ironside almost always plays a good badass.

Homeland Security protects the patriot act against alien terrorists. Something like that perhaps? No thanks. Please continue the old series instead (with Kenneth Johnson on board).
