Jill Valentine is back. When director Paul W.S. Anderson brought back Sienna Guillory for the closing credits of Resident Evil: Afterlife, it was assumed she would play a part in the fifth installment which is currently shooting for a 2012 release. Instead, some rumors popped up online that the character could be replaced. But those rumors didn't last long at all as numerous fans told the producers that they want the actress from the second and fourth installments back in the same role. The star confirmed her return via her Twitter over the last day, first with an update that she would be meeting the director and series executive producer and then a latter tweet that she's indeed returning.
"Big day tomorrow! Meeting Paul Anderson and Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kultzer to see what my future looks like..." said Sienna. She later confirmed a good meeting with "THANK YOU SO MUCH! RETRIBUTION HERE I COME!"
Sienna is the second officially confirmed star behind lead Milla Jovovich. While Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller are expected to also reprise their Claire and Chris Redfield roles, all eyes on seem to be on the casting for incoming RE characters Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy and Barry Burton.
Resident Evil: Retribution arrives in theaters September 14, 2012.
