Scoop Feedback:

December 1, 2003... Ewan McGregor, Ben Kingsley, Jim Broadbent and John Hurt are just four of the voice actors just announced for Vanguard Animation's computer generated VALIANT movie. Set during World War II in Britain, the film follows the trial by fire missions of Valiant, a low-ranking carrier pigeon enlisted in Great Britain's Royal Air Force Homing Pigeon Service. Assigned to ferry important messages and documents across the English Channel, Valiant (which will be voiced by McGregor) and his comrades must dodge the aerial attacks of the German falcons. Kingsley will provide the
voice for General Keyserlingk, the falcons' leader. Other British actors voicing characters in the picture include Rupert Everett, Hugh Laurie and Ricky Gervais.

VALIANT is scheduled to be completed a year from now. Walt Disney Pictures, the movie's distributor, hasn't announced when they plan to release the film. [Press release.]

April 16, 2004... Tim Curry and John Cleese are the latest additions to the cast of the CGI family film VALIANT. The movie, produced by SHREK's John H. Williams, is being created using computer animation for Walt Disney Pictures by Vanguard Animation, Williams' company. The movie is the story of a messenger pigeon named Valiant who is part of the ranks of the Royal Air Force Homing Pigeon Service during World War II. Cleese plays one of the British birds that gets trapped behind enemy lines while Curry lends his voice as one of the German Falcons out to bring down the pigeons.

The $40 million dollar CGI movie is scheduled to be released next year. Ewan McGregor will provide the voice of Valiant while Ben Kingsley, Jim Broadbent, Rupert Everett, Hugh Laurie, John Hurt and Ricky Gervais also are in the voice cast. [The Hollywood Reporter.]
