The vampire Lestat returns again in BLOOD CANTICLE

New Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles novel now out

Anne Rice is proving that you just can't keep a good vampire down and in the ground. Her latest book in the "Vampire Chronicles", BLOOD CANTICLE, has just been released this week and blends together her characters from THE WITCHING HOUR and the vampire Lestat from INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE.

Unlike the majority of Rice's vampire novels, BLOOD CANTICLE is written first-person and from the perspective of Lestat himself. After ridding himself of his evil doppelganger Goblin in last year's BLACKWOOD FARM, Quinn Blackwood now begs of Lestat to save the life of his love, the witch Mona Mayfair (introduced in THE WITCHING HOUR). Lestat does so and makes Mona an immortal, which also earns him the wrath of the Mayfair clan's patriarch, Julian. Further complicating matters is Mona's sister Rowan, romantically attracted to the 17th century Frenchman; Ash Templeton, a 5,000-year old being known as a Taltos who has kidnapped Mona's child; and Quinn's mother Patsy who has returned from the world of the dead to torment her son.

It may sound a little like AS THE WORLD TURNS set in the world of the supernatural (or is that preternatural since it's Anne Rice we're talking about?), but Rice's Vampire Chronicles and her Lestat have legions of fans. Clocking in at 320 pages, Rice's BLOOD CANTICLE is now on sale.
