OK, I can kind of see this having some potential. Believe it or not, Anne Rice's vampires are in the process of being turned into a...Broadway musical production.
THE VAMPIRE LESTAT is the title of the musical and it's based on material found in Rice's first three novels of her "Vampire Chronicles", namely INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, THE VAMPIRE LESTAT and QUEEN OF THE DAMNED. What's even bigger than this is who's been hired to write the show's music and lyrics, none other than Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
John and Taupin are working right now on the production and the show's producers hope to have finished writing by the end of September, with read throughs happening in November. The production of LESTAT is aimed for a 2005 opening.
Let the speculation about who will croon as the vampire Lestat commence!
