Vampire Princess Miyu TV Box Set
By Abraham Chinchilla Jr.
January 04, 2003
Release Date: November 26, 2002
Being released only a few months after the last volume of the series, is the Vampire Princess Miyu
TV box set from Tokyopop. This review is simply for the box art.PACKAGING:
The box isn't anything too special. It's thin cardboard, so it's not very sturdy. The front side has a gray-ish image of Miyu, along with the Butterfly from volume 5, and the Tokyopop bar that's showing up on their recent discs. It's pretty decent, but maybe keeping these images in color (especially the butterfly) would of made this set more eye-catching. The front also notes of the free limited Friendship charm included.
The box spine is pretty bad, and won't look good on display since it's simply text, listing what's in the box, with a small image of Miyu and Shiina (I'll be displaying the box showing the DVD spine art).
The back is just like the front, except it features Larva and Garline (still gray, no colors, sadly). It's pretty nice, but like the front, just not eye-catching. The top is also pretty decent, with an image of Miyu and Larva, the bottom is simply red with barcodes.EXTRAS:
There are a couple of goodies include with the box. You get the nifty Friendship charm, which is nice to have, but the real treat is the CD soundtrack, featuring music done by Kenji Kawai for the series. It's great to have.
The box will be available seperately for those who already bought the individual discs, but for those who don't get the box aren't missing out on much (the CD is available from Tokyopop as well). This complete box and its price was a great deal for those who had been interested in Miyu though.
