VAN HELSING score now slaying consumers

Now available in record stores is Alan Silvestri's score for VAN HELSING. Released by Decca Records, Silvestri's soundtrack for Stephen Sommers' action/horror adventure will probably appeal to those who enjoy powerful orchestral machinations in their movies.
Last week CINESCAPE's Soundtrax columnist Randall D. Larson reviewed the VAN HELSING soundtrack, giving it his endorsement. "The score's very thunderousness, however, almost overpowers its listenability on CD, however there's almost too much of the driving percussive pulses prominent throughout each of its cues," wrote Larson in his review. "Silvestri handles the aggression of the orchestra well, but, on CD at least, the listener becomes anxious for a respite of melody or resonant warmth. However, that anxiousness may be just what the composer was after, as a careful listen can detect a method of Silvestri's madness here."
Running a total time of 42 minutes, 53 seconds, Silvestri's score contains the following 12 tracks:
1. Transylvania 1887
2. Burn it Down!
3. Werewolf Trap
4. Journey to Transylvania
5. Attacking Brides
6. Dracula's Nursery
7. Usless Crucifix
8. Transylvanian Horses
9. All Hallow's Eve Ball
10. Who Are They to Judge?
11. Final Battle
12. Reunited
The VAN HELSING soundtrack carries a suggested retail price of $18.98.
