A bubble over Haven? Just how many wierd small towns are there in Maine?

Two months after Showtime acquired the rights to adapt Stephen King's Under the Dome into a series event, Deadline reports they have found a writer good enough to script out the adventure. The online trade reports that comic writer Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina) has been tasked with the writing duties for the Steven Spielberg-produced series. Spielberg, King and DreamWorks' Stacey Snider will executive produce along with DreamWorks TV chiefs Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.
Plot Concept: The story revolves around the drama that unfolds after an invisible force field suddenly descends on a small vacation town in Maine. As the locals fight for their survival, the town descends into warring factions led by enigmatic characters.

The book is a good read, even though the themes are very common to King stories. It's kind of the Stand-Light
It's not his best book, but he always does a good job of highlighting how despicable people can be.
The ending was weak but the build up to the end was good. Not King's best work, but pretty solid.
tallman - You know, when I first heard of the book's premise last year, I thought, "Really? Did he just pull that off the Simpon's movie?" Well, if Spider-Pig doesn't make an appearance, then honestly, what's the point of the series?
(Great. Now I have that darn song in my head.... Spider-Pig! Spider-Pig!...)
Lol! Or Harry Plopper? I don't know too much of Stephen King's stuff only It, The Shining and he had something to do with The Shawshank Redemption right? Will give this a go tho if it pops up on t.v somewhere.
Sounds a bit like Girls by the Luna Brothers, except without the extra-terestrial chicks wanderering around. & I appreciate that Vaughan needs paying gigs, but tell him to get his ass back to btinging Y the last man to the screen, and creating his next comic masterpiece, it's been too long since Ex-machina finished & I need a fix
Tallman asked, "...and he had something to do with The Shawshank Redemption right?"
LOL yea, as in he wrote it! ;)
It was a short novel (or "novella") called "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" and it appeared as part of an anthology of four novellas (all by King) in the book "Different Seasons." This book also included the stories
"Breathing Method" - kind of weak
"Apt Pupil" - decent; was made into a movie
"The Body" - which you may remember seeing in theaters under its theatrical name "Stand By Me."
Just like the dome that covered springfield?
