I'll always have mixed feelings about this til the day it gets completely rebooted. I won't go into my usual diatribe and just keep my fingers crossed that they turn out a good film.

I liked FC but I still thought it could've been better. And to be honest once I put all the continuity issues aside and team make-up, which is hard for me to do, I did enjoy all the X films to different degrees. And yes that includes Wolverine which is probably the most offensive of the bunch

 Hell yeah, Mr. Vaughn!

I, too, would like to see the Sentinels (along with Apocalypse) done some cinematic justice.  The only thing we ever got close to being a Sentinel was that Danger Room robot from X3.

The hate for Wolverine seems to get stronger with cheese.......but......I actually liked quite a few things about that movie.  I thought Liev Schriber was incredible, not sabretooth by any means, but  a great character.  Hugh was Hugh, which was great!  I liked most of the side characters, especially Ryan's deadpool and the hugely underrated Kevin Durrand as the blob.  Will I am sucks, wtf? but I could overlook it.  So it leaves me wanting to know what the most common thread overall in the hatred for this film is?  help me out dudes, unleash!

Matt Vaughn is on a good pace, he's done 2 of my favorite films in the last 2 years and I will watch anything he does from now on until he makes like.......3 stinkers in a Renny Harlin........but I don't think he'll go that way.  This combined with Fassbender and McAvoy makes for really good news for a sequel to my favorite film of 2011!

My biggest problem with Wolverine was the ending with Weapon XI being Deadpool... the rest was okay but that really ruined things for me. I would like to see Gambit worked into New Class since he can't really be the replacement in X4 like I originally hoped he would be. I always wanted to see Mister Sinister too and think he would be the best Villain in the next movie.

i liked FC as a movie and look forward to the sequel

as a comic bk fan my biggest hope is they fix the continuity issues - it was just too hard to shut it out while watching the film .... i dont know why they wrote the script as they did - would the original story have been too boring?  ... the sequel would then have been about the second bunch of  xmen (banshee, colossus, ncrawler)

Once again, my usual rant. X-men FC was a good comicbook movie, not a good X-men movie.

I could accept Havok and Banshee as founding members as they were introduced in the early days of the X-men but Darwin, Mystique and Angel Salvadore as founding members? Azazel as a villain? No thanks.

It's like saying "let's make an Avengers movie but instead of Hawkeye and Widow, let's have Deathcry and Dr Druid!"

Sadly. The perfect X-men movie will not come any time soon with news like this.

Wise, I seem to agree with you with this all the time (and the TDK stuff). The X-men movies were still fun to watch and I was glad to see my X-men on the big screen (something I never dreamed would happen as a kid) but at the same time, did not wow me as much as the Marvel Studios films. A reboot with the main actors (Fassbender, McVoy) with the same director, original X-men would have been the best for me.

I agree with Wiseguy and ElBaz on this issue as usual. I just didn't feel like beating that dead horse again, since at this point it's been beaten down to horse powder. But I still felt like coming back just to say this to you guys about ur comments......... "WORD!"

Wasn't there an interview where MV said he would only bring in one new X-Men, into the mix? Story-wise I think Jean makes perfect sense. As much as I would love to see the original first class come into the mix, for telling a good story it doesn't make sense to bring in Scott Summers, when you have Alex Summers there with the same powers. Doesn't make sense to bring in Angel, when you have flying Banshee there also.

At the end of FC Charles is in a wheelchair which means he won't be out in the field with the rest of the students. So who is the perfect replacement for a telepath? Jean Grey! It would fit perfectly. They need a telepath to go up against Emma Frost, and Jean is that young mutant character having trouble controlling her abilities, yada yada yada (insert story).

Like I said, I would love to see the original first class though. My ideal story would be, having this class go out on a mission and get locked up or trapped on Savage Land, AND then Charles recruits the REAL first class (Jean, Scott, Angel) to go out and rescue them.
