TRUE BLOOD: Strange Love - Sep 09, 2008 - 05:41am
I actually enjoyed the show so far. Could care less for the accent (maybe in that alternate world their accent is different), I was not distracted by it.
And just like reading words, if you want to focus deep on something, you have to concentrate (I dont't think that she touched her brother to read his mind, just to concentrate on his deep thoughts).
And yes, the exteriors look common, cheap... just like in real life. I hate when landscapes get romanticized.
I am hopeful for the series.
Jessica Alba Will Become INVISIBLE - Sep 08, 2008 - 03:36pm
What is this? action? drama? suspense? Sounds like a number 23 meets beautiful mind to me.
I agree that Mrs Alba does not have the talent to pull either one by herself. But then again, just put some nudity and the movie will do just fine.
Randall Wallace Penning Will Smith's PHARAOH - Sep 08, 2008 - 03:30pm
Not so much a departure... Hancock was "a god" for some cultures (according to the movie). Still, I always end up watching his films no matter how much I critique. I'm Will's number 1,458,687 fan.
Will Smith is the New CAPTAIN AMERICA? - Sep 08, 2008 - 03:16pm
There should be a rule stating that each actor can only portray ONE superhero in their lifetime... that way they would choose wisely before becoming "sue storm", or "daredevil"...
TV Wasteland: ABC to Return - Sep 08, 2008 - 09:22am
True Blood started nicely...I'm just waiting for Dexter and Robot Chicken.
Maybe "the return" will be about the Galactica crew after the "return" to earth
As for Alien Nation, a damn classic.
INSIDE MAN 2 Green Lit for Universal - Sep 07, 2008 - 05:30pm
I enjoyed Inside Man, but was not "blown" by it. Good performances, long blahish story.
Penetration... I mean, Inside Man 2 could have problems working. In the movie a major robbery takes place, but the actual intentions/execution takes place without the movie viewer acknowledge. The "gimmic" is known, so how do you fool your audience twice?
Also, Denzel (a great hot actor he is) has too many detectives/investigators in his resume. He should do a silly comedy or something away from his safe zone. I personally loved DeNiro in Stardust, as dumb as that may sound.
Why so serious? Make Airplane 3 instead!!!!
Box Office: BANGKOK Wins Another Slow Weekend - Sep 07, 2008 - 05:09pm
Traitor was not as good as expected.IMO
Also, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in football. So during football season TV is screwed for me.
The best part of the weekend, was a rerun of Tales from the Crypt. Yay for the cryptkeeper! He can really pleasure this girl.
Ramis Updates On GHOSTBUSTERS 3 - Sep 07, 2008 - 12:51pm
I'm all for some ectoplasm... I'll propose for the main cuartet:
Jon Heder (as the scientist reuniting a team to battle !* spoiler*! the ghost of Dana Barrett)
Paul Rudd (as the horny scientist, !* spoiler*! son of Dana Barrett and Dr. Peter Venkman)ooooh!
Amy Poehler(as a "lipstick wearing pitbull" scientist)
Romany Malco (as the token back guy... I mean... as an Englishman obsessed with the history of ghosts)
Oh! and McLovin can be the assistant or AKA "Janine".
As of the original team,
Ray and Egon continue their research on spectral activity, resulting award winning celebrities (nobel is too easy in movies).
Winston Zeddemore retires and has his own family, away from any ghosts.
Peter is in a mental asylum.
Dana is dead (doh!)
If you need me to write the rest of the screenplay, contact my agent ;p
LAIR OF THE BEASTS: On the Trail of American Werewolves - Sep 07, 2008 - 12:21pm
I am hoping for a "creature profile" for Puerto Rico. Between the rain forest and the dry forest, the land is a mana of mythical stories and creatures. Just don't focus on the chupacabra, which is the most nototious and boring story out there.
GHOSTBUSTERS Getting a Call From Sony - Sep 05, 2008 - 09:57am
I'm all for it. This is one sequel worth doing. There are not enough comedy-science-ghost movies out there.
If you add Sigourney (in a relevant situation of course), who is still super hot even as an older woman, it would be even more awsomer.
Mania Exclusive: Shirley Manson Interview - Sep 05, 2008 - 09:50am
I'm all for strong female characters, but I just hope that it does not turn into a Xena/Gabrielle thing for the ratings.
Other than that, she seems like a cool addition.
De Niro Out of Mel Gibson's DARKNESS - Sep 05, 2008 - 09:47am
The only part of the movie that interested me just resigned... At least De Niro was galant enough to state "creative differences"
Walker and Christensen Digging BONE DEEP - Sep 05, 2008 - 09:43am
At least for me it's an OK news.. I'll just watch the movie in mute and skip any "nobody hot on-screen" parts.
SDCC: Full New RE: DEGENERATION Trailer - Jul 25, 2008 - 05:15pm
Certainly feels like the game,... but I hope for a better facial rendition for the final product. Otherwise cool!
SDCC: Robert Pattinson Talks TWILIGHT - Jul 25, 2008 - 05:10pm
The original story gets quite feral, which is vampire heaven,... but If the movie focuses on the "teen drama" it can take away much essence. No CW here please.
SDCC: Day Remake Will Definitely Have a Gort - Jul 25, 2008 - 05:03pm
Remakes and sequels are hurting cinema creativity. This sounds like "War of the Worlds"... deeply disapointing. Even the 1953 version is superior in terms of use of available technology and story relevance. Don't give us grape juice and call it wine...
HBO's First Look at DARK KNIGHT - Jul 14, 2008 - 02:33pm
I'm with you brother young equestrian ... In Puerto Rico is the same sh!t. I'm checking this news and stuff like a guy that subcribes to Playboy "just to read the articles, not for the picutes (in this case video)"...
I will light a candle for our abstinence...
Joker Gets in A Parting Shot to DARK KNIGHT Sites - Jul 11, 2008 - 01:31pm
Well... no DK for my kids (recent nightmare bouts for both)... I guess the husband will babysit while I enjoy myself some Joker Action.
Disney Grabs New Spy Action Spec - Jul 11, 2008 - 05:35am
I just can't wait for this movie!!!!It must be a Seinfeld remake with Kramer as the Detective from his defunct series the "Michael Richards Show"! Yay!!
BATMAN-GOTHAM KNIGHT (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) - Jul 11, 2008 - 05:30am
Tough sell. But It is hard to be compared to the Animatrix, which is better than the films that followed it. For the Animatrix, there was a lot of collaboration between the movie producers/writers/directors/brothers in the DVD development. But in the Batman case it seems that the connection was a little off. Nevertheless, if the film lives up to the hype, the DVD will not be as important as it was on the Matrix where a completely new universe was explained.
Crazy 8: Top Movie Genre Catfights - Jul 11, 2008 - 05:14am
Thank God that you included #1 as #1. I thought this list was going to be about "catfight ends in lesbo sex" seudofight between Neve Cambell and Denise Richards in Wild Things.
Burning with Hellboy's Ron Perlman - Jul 10, 2008 - 06:12am
Even Ron is a genuine fan of Del Toro. These people seem like family (at least my family)every time they speak about making the movie.
Del Toro gets right the balance in fantastic writing (balance between characters, storyline, and background world), where Shyamalan usually falls short (I do like M. Night). If Del Toro directed The Last Airbender it would be PERFECTION.
It is funny that Guillermo Del Toro is directing The Hobbit since he does look a lot like Elijah Wood.
HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY - Jul 10, 2008 - 05:45am
Wow... that was a very informing and practical review. I rate your review A+
Robert Downey Jr. is Ritchie's SHERLOCK HOLMES - Jul 10, 2008 - 05:32am
As much as I enjoy Sherlock Holmes, two contemporary movies is too much. One team should work on a reimagining of other great detectives. In fact Downey could portray something like Columbo, and if you get Jessica Biel for Jessica (from Murder She Wrote) and let them have hot sizzling sleuthing action... This could work! I'm calling copyright first!
Universal Unleashes New HELLBOY II Clip - Jul 10, 2008 - 05:16am
This movie looks like a Beauty! Count me in. I just hope that Liz's character development is more featured than in Hellboy I (she is passive/agressive, but when she's in agressive mode is soo cool!!)
Ellsworth Writing Remake of RED DAWN - Jul 09, 2008 - 12:30pm
Your american pride will get us all killed. Invasion is still a possible threat. Maybe the "red invasion" is actually coming from Mars.
Just don't be prejudiced with them... OK?!
Walden Media Becomes HOUSEBROKEN - Jul 09, 2008 - 09:56am
Hey! Just in case I was not bashing any religion (I have Ministers and priests in my inmediate family). I just have not enjoyed Narnia, or Terabithia, or any other of their movies. They are sort of slow and wimpy when suddenly they are killing in plain view the lion king (Aslan), or suddenly they kill the little girl. I prefer fantastic fantasy, not depressing and creepy ones. It is safe to say that I don't like their style.
Sony Grabs Cast For PLANET 51 - Jul 09, 2008 - 09:03am
My 5 and 2 year old kids loved Wall-e. It is a very simple story, simple enough not to be preachy.
For planet 51, I just hope that the message is not "we are all different and should accept us as we are". Almost EVERY cgi kid oriented film has the same message.
Ellsworth Writing Remake of RED DAWN - Jul 09, 2008 - 07:15am
I hate the hollywood propaganda. If it's war with Russia, they mass produce films about evil russians; if it's war in Iraq, they do the same. That propaganda only promotes prejudice against everyone from Germans (they are all Nazis), Chinnesse (all dirty Commnists), Russians (red Communists), Middle Easteners (theological terrorists), Latin Americans (pig illegal aliens), and so on.
Most of the time it's the government the one that should be criticized, not every individual in a given nation.
I do not support this bigotry. Freedom of speech and artistic license are one thing... mind numbing propaganda is another. Happy 4th to everyone!!!!!!
Walden Media Becomes HOUSEBROKEN - Jul 09, 2008 - 06:59am
For some reason I don't enjoy the movies that walden media produces. I rather let my kids watch gremlins, neverending story, dark crystal than those wimpy wimpy films. But don't get me wrong, I also let them watch sweet movies like The little princess, and George (the monkey), Babe (the pig), but there is something that I do not trust about the Walden Media output. They creep me out, and I'm a Tales fomr the Crypt fan!!!!
New Sneak Peek for CLONE WARS at Celebration Japan - Jul 08, 2008 - 07:21pm
Type casting will not be a problem for most since the SW 1-3 are really not that memorable. But Hayden may be typecasted as a bad actor, not just for SW, but also for most of his work (I don't get his appeal). Samuel L Jackson is the motha of the mofo's, and he's typecasted as that, just as he wanted.
I'm on an evil mood, sorry for the outburst.
Something Viral Planned for DARK KNIGHT - Jul 08, 2008 - 07:11pm
I have bought almost 700 pizzas to see if I get the $10,000 prize. Wait... 700 times $14 per delivery... sh*t, now I'm fat and poor!
Photo Gallery: Bat Pod On Tour - Jul 08, 2008 - 06:40pm
Yep... live, work, play, die slowly. Here the movies usually start a day earlier (Thursdays), but on rare occasions they are held back in order to fuc< with us.(recently Wall.e, memorable StarWars I-III, Matrix II-III)
Actually they are held back to uniformly count the ticket sales in the US for those "special movies". But enjoy our Island and you Vacay!
New International Trailer for TROPIC THUNDER - Jul 08, 2008 - 06:20pm
Call it Three Amigos, Galaxy Quest, Airplane, Hot Shots, Hot Shots Part Deux... whatever... I loved them all... but don't call it Naked Gun >1, those were unfunny funny.
X-FILES: REVELATIONS Hits DVD July 8 - Jul 08, 2008 - 06:08pm
I just have to wait for my bro to get the DVD because of the interview, and watch it for FREE. I will not pay to watch that (not even rental).
New Promo Pic For WOLVERINE - Jul 08, 2008 - 06:02pm
Jackman has been a great Wolverine. His face and expressions are on target, and I think that the sideburns are even real!! (the guy is hairy!!) They even bulked him up more for the origins role. And as sacrilegious as it is... I prefer the wifebeater to the yellow/black outfit.
My only complain is that in Last Stand when Phoenix is pulverizing everything and Wolverine comes close to "help" (kill) her, she pulverizes his clothes with the exception of his pants... WTF? Are his pants titanium? Or didn't she want to see the metal filled package?
TRANSFORMERS Concept Art Appears Online - Jul 08, 2008 - 05:48pm
Beautiful concept art whether for T1 or T2 (not that I'm comparing the "amazing images but inane plot" Transformers to the original "back to the past" T2).
Two New TV Spots for X-FILES 2 - Jul 08, 2008 - 05:35pm
This movie is in my Summer viewing list but... Damn it, more previews of NOTHING!
Striking Gold! Writer/director Guillermo del Toro - Jul 08, 2008 - 05:33pm
I am on board with anything Del Toro delivers. His style is very mature while maintaining a supernatural storytelling. Also, he does not rely excessively on CGI, which makes the creatures in his movies tangible when using the puppeteering art that is sadly been lost. And the guy is humble! Gotta LOVE him.
Also, he is a great latino role model. Su Laberinto del Fauno estuvo brutal. Se le respeta mucho su trabajo.
Hulk's Louis Leterrier Leading TITANS Remake - Jun 27, 2008 - 07:22am
Is it only me? or is anyone alse tired of remakes just for the sake of remakes? Along this news there was a Red Sonja remake news. I have been disconnected for a while... just give it to me... how many new remakes have been announced?
And talk about CGI... if the movie will be "a la 300", the human-like monsters will probably look like Hulk (in best hope). CGI is yet to return a believable human action character (with the exception of smeagol, but how human was he?) So, we upgrade from claymation to cgimation.
And the story... it will just be like Troy, which with the exception of Pitt's butt provided nothing new or memorable (I did mention the butt, right?). The Perseus story is old as cold. How much can you really change?
I will stick to my silly old clash... at least we can justify it by saying that it's just old... and silly.
New Trailer For CLONE WARS - Jun 12, 2008 - 11:47am
The animated tv Clone wars was far superior to episodes I and II. The less Lucas does, the better. I am Looking forward for the CGI movie and TV series.
And for Lucas waiting 25 years for "technology to catch up to his ideas"... Ha... 25 years for jar jar!? for the teletubbies love scenes!? Yes, very creative and techie.
I live in the darkside, I am the galactic empire... and Lucas is not invited to the party!! The creator lost its creation!
Mulan writer reworking JEANNIE - Jun 12, 2008 - 11:29am
This series is too lighthearthed and innocent to be remade... except on a XXX rating or if Larry Hagman's character was gay.
I agree, Bewitched redux.
TV Review: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: Hub - Jun 12, 2008 - 11:11am
I have no disrespect for humans... Anders is a skinjob, and the final cylon will probably be one that I mentioned. So I disrespected both cyclons and humans,... but since cylons are just "self defined machines", and they will turn out to be Humans (or us cylons)... humm.. I lost my train of thought...
Oh yeah! Baltar is also hot!
TV Review: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: Hub - Jun 11, 2008 - 06:10pm
Men.. what a Surprise...
But since we are in the subject, I'd admit to wanna tap or be tapped by the hated Helo, or the "sissy" Anders, the singing peg-legged gaeta, the whiney Adama Jr, hey... even "mumbles" Adama Sr is hot in this series!
There is eye candy for us XX's too. ;)
Paramount and M.Night Shyamalan Previews LAST AIRBENDER - Jun 11, 2008 - 05:59pm
It's sad, but the creators confirmed last year that this would be the final season. They used the analogy of the three elements that aang had to master (water, earth, fire), since he was a master airbender before he got frozen by accident. Hence, each book is named by the elements in the cycle that the story defined as the avatar cycle (the previous avatar was from the fire nation, the avatar after aang will be a water bender).
I have said before that my concern with Shyamalan is that while he creates great characters, the characters usually overwhelm the story. For the last airbender the story, backstory, and even the "side stories" are as important as the main characters. I would hate to lose that in a film adaptation (they are planning a trilogy, one movie per season).
The good thing is that the series is so deep, that it can withstand rewatching it over and over (at least that's my plan).
TV Review: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: Hub - Jun 10, 2008 - 07:06pm
I have enjoyed every episode from season 4. Each has been designed to bring forth the end of the show, and they are actually making sense. And as sad as that may be, they needed to include certain elements in those "slow" episodes so that the ending is the logical result (as logical as flesh robots can be).
Lucy Lawless is always great, she can do no wrong. If she does smurfette's voice, it would be a killer movie.
New Extended Clip for HANCOCK - Jun 10, 2008 - 06:44pm
Still no urge to watch the movie. As much as I tried to be enthusiastic about the movie, there is something that says "not there yet". I will probably wait for the DVD. If someone watches it, let me know if it's good.
Columbia Bringing SMURFS To the Big Screen - Jun 10, 2008 - 06:32pm
In my town there was an urban legend that the smurfs were demons, and that they were incarnate in their toys and images. If you had a figurine you had to burn it to avoid being bitten by it. NO JOKE, my preschool had a drawing of the smurfs in the yard, and because of the parents they had to paint over it. But they painted a seriously creepy clown, which haunts me still.
PS My smurf figurines never bit me. Although one always stared funny at me.
PPS Smurffette had black hair when she was under Gargamel's spell (evil), but when she became good her hair turned blonde. What does this mean?
PPPS In "The New Smurf Adventures" there were smurf kids, and some of the kids were girls. If they were asexual, Were those really boy smurfs in drag?
Paramount and M.Night Shyamalan Previews LAST AIRBENDER - Jun 10, 2008 - 06:17pm
In my house it was me who hooked my kids and some colleagues into the show. This one is easy... the story and cinematography is already available, just don't funk with it.
The last airbender final season ends this summer, it has been THE BEST anime/cartoon made in the US and A.
Teaser Trailer for Martin's PINK PANTHER 2 - Jun 09, 2008 - 12:15pm
I guess that in a sense it does qualify... I first thought that it was a Fiction news... then I screamed in HORROR when realized he was serious... (I know I'm not funny, just annoying)...We are in the Remake/Sequel era of the film industry, and you can't blame Steve Martin for sticking this long an having a lot of connections. Still, I agree that his comedy style is not working. I'd prefer to rewatch "The Jerk" instead of PP2.
Box Office: DreamWorks Using KUNG FU on Competition - Jun 08, 2008 - 07:27pm
My money supported "Panda" last week. Definitively targeted for very young viewers. Same ol' story, but cute animals and amazing backgrounds. Actually better than I expected.
On the speed racer note, if you remove all the dialogue of the "corporate bad guy" and the SpyKids type "corporate bad guy lair", it was an enjoyable movie. But with those awful things, the movie was unbearable.
And in my book, box office money does not equal good. Nobody can pay me to watch Sex & the City... and I'm a woman!!!!
New Set Photos for DA VINCI Prequel - Jun 08, 2008 - 06:34am
Just to clear the spoiler, she was not Jesus' daughter... think about it... not there yet?.... add a couple great and one grand to it....
And in the book, she could actually think, and talk (in several languages), and solve puzzles. Crazy! No girl (not even the you know what of you know who) can do that in real life! In the movie she just went along like a fembot until the "reveal".
The movie was a Tom Hanks show, and the book was worth reading even after knowing "the final twist". I can't wait for the next Langdon adventure (bookwise I mean).
New Teaser Trailer for MADAGASCAR 2 - Jun 07, 2008 - 06:41am
Assuming from the plot summary, I guess they took the script from the first movie and Found/replaced:
New York/Madagascar
Madagascar/Africa
Boat/Plane
Lion will try to eat friend zebra/friend of lion will try to eat zebra
Penguins steal the show/penguins steal the show again
and voila, Madagascar 2.
New Set Photos for DA VINCI Prequel - Jun 07, 2008 - 06:30am
This has been so disapointing. The DaVinci/Angels books were written to be made into movies, so... how could Ron have gone soooooo wrong.
Starting with Langdon, who should be a forty-something that could pass as a twenty-something because he is a committed athlete (not Tom Hanks). In the books, the leading ladies are as smart as Langdon but in different knowledge fields, but in the movie the perfectly cast Tautou was a brainless pretty girl that just came along. The original story was very controversial and had great storytelling that could make you question if the book was indeed fiction; but in the movie they removed all the significance of the events, and milded it until there was no impact to the final revelation.
There are many other reasons why I was disapointed, but since the movie made money the lack of fidelity does not matter. National Treasure had more similarities to The DaVinci Code book than the DaVinci movie.
Just to let know I am not a book purist. A book that was changed a lot in the movie adaptation was "The Shinning", but the changes did not change the subject matter of the original book. Both movie and book stories have an equivalent impact while the storytelling is different.
Oh! And I Love Tom Hanks in everything else.
Platinum Planning Chupacabra ALIENS - Jun 06, 2008 - 06:26am
Get it? Illegal Aliens - Latin American ET's...
Wasn't this an X-files episode?
EMILY Comic Getting Adapted to Theaters - Jun 06, 2008 - 06:18am
I will admit to have liked spiderman 1, but the others... well, that's why there are plenty movies and genres to choose from. Nevertheless, I would definately prefer Spideys sequels to any fruity romantic comedy. (But they still sucked in my book).
Peace man!
TV Review: THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN: PART II - Jun 06, 2008 - 06:07am
This is 12 monkeys all over again!
1. If we asume this right, then The Terminator franchise does not make sense. If the virus (or robot) killed 90% of the future population, and the only chance of survival was find a cure (or save a future leader) in the past, I think they will take the chance. Which brings 2nd point.
2. They sent the virus contained (it was our infallible government who let it out). There sure was a risk of killing decendants of future virus survivals, but if the virus already wiped most of earth living things, I'd say it's worth it. Also, we are assuming that timelines can be altered, which complicates the whole thing. If a timeline is altered, time will go on a infinite continuous loop which in turn end times.
3. Yeah, the space station virus is collecting dust, until we are forced to leave earth because the whole thing is dead from the same virus. If we leave earth towards the available space stations, all the space stuff collecting dust becomes the more important (the port-a-potties, the orange Tang, the soylentgreen), including all the crazy numbered containers from which; dang! one has the virus! If I'm sending a call to the past, I will warn them of the contaner X made by the triangles logo. They do not know that the container was stored after the devastation of the virus they will send back in time. (I love all this nonsense!)
4. See number 3!
5. Why did they have to travel naked in Terminator? In this case it's fair to say that future people believed that the best way to send the message was in that cryptic way. I mean, in the movie they solved it relatively quickly, sooooo, they were right. Too bad that the pople from the triangles logo were a secret entity... maybe the Illuminati or the Masons. If we knew WHO was "The Man" we would get him. (I'm telling you, this is too much!)
6. They sent all the information they got, but why did they not send info about what happens in the future? Well, if they said that the creator of the virus was Mary Smith a thousand years from now, would it be relevant? I mean, we are still debating the facts from 9/11 and it's only been a couple years!!! Future people (or whatever we evolved into) sent the relevant information to find a cure, and identify the container that existed in our times with the same virus.
7. Oops... no seven.
The sad thing is, that everything will happen again, and going back in time will not save anyone in the future. They might as well wait for the Galactica to take them to a new Kobol Colony!
Or maybe it was aliens! Maybe we found the virus on during the Mars Colonization! Just give me some time and I will get another theory working!!!
Raimi Wants to Direct SPIDER-MAN 4? - Jun 06, 2008 - 05:16am
As with the previous Batman fanchise, Spidey has become a bigger joke with each movie. Instead of expanding the complexities of the main characters, they give a carrousel of same issues with new villains that are associated to the same issues. And in the case of MJ, she gets to be a bigger hollow dansel in distress with each movie. They might just classify these movies as "zombie" movies... movies made for mindless drones. With all due respect to the spiderman fans.
New Shoots Planned for VALKYRIE - Jun 04, 2008 - 07:29pm
I just LOVE how the Plot Summary starts: "Superstar Tom Cruise heads an international..."
Intrinsic to the story!!
TV Review: THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN: PART II - Jun 04, 2008 - 07:21pm
While the movie had black holes within super black holes within bad acting, I can give a possible solution for the virus creation. An engineer in the future (lets say year 2545) experiments and creates a new virus, they lose control of it. They search under rocks for a possible cure. They find that since 2008 (or whatever was the present year in the movie, I don't quite recall) the same virus was contained in a space station. They theoretically find a cure in the future, but just when the ingredients are extint. They develop time travel (or already have it, I mean Back to the Future is from 1985). They send a message back with the virus, in order to find a cure "in the past". In the message they include the reference for the space station container, which survived our wars and patriot act until the year 2545 because it was on space. But the documents that explained the origin of the container were lost when they found it on 2545.Yeah, a crappy solution. It would just be easier to forget I saw the movie.
SIMPSONS Cast Signed For 4 More Years - Jun 04, 2008 - 06:52pm
Yep... they killed Futurama but kept the Simpsons for a almost a quarter century. At least Family Guy was resurrected (yes, I like Simpsons nemesis).
Don't get me wrong, I watch the Simpsons since they were shorts on the Tracy Ullman show (I was a strange kid), I memorized all the dialoge of the first 5 seasons, and I even cried when Selma sang to her iguana... but it's time to let them go. It's been legally brain-dead for a while... Where is Dr. Klevorkian when you need him!!!!
Nine New Photos for MADAGASCAR 2 - Jun 04, 2008 - 06:38pm
After watching Madagascar for the millionth time, and then having the Disney copycat for another hundred; I am still saturated of those characters. And to think that Ice Age III is also on the way gives me nightmares (not that the movies are bad, its the nonstop repetition viewing). But it can't be as bad as Shrek 3, which even my kids only watched a couple times (they found it boring, yet watched it a couple times!!!!)... parenting is tough!
Oh! and let me guess, the moral of the story is that "home" is where your hearth/family is... NOT AGAIN!!!
New TV Spot for Smith's HANCOCK Online - May 30, 2008 - 05:41pm
Agree with wiseguy. Also, the Zohan movie has a similar antihero plot and comes earlier. The movie looks entertaining, but I will probably see Zohan at the cinema (my family has a thing for Mr Sandler)and wait for the october/november DVD release of Hancock. If not, I'll see them both on DVD.
EMILY Comic Getting Adapted to Theaters - May 30, 2008 - 05:30pm
I agree with joey... just put spiderman 4 to 6 on hold until we forget that 1 thru 3 were ever made, and let different genre comics get adapted. I'm on board with this one.
and Pkaz, I will probably also get bashed for my Spidey comment (two sides of the same coin).
Jay Russell Leading Niles' WAKE THE DEAD - May 30, 2008 - 05:24pm
The tone of the montage seems "romantic horror", which is my type of romance movie. Bram Stoker's Dracula had a good screenplay (while some not as good performers). Anyway, Looks promising.
Universal and Platinum Dunes Go OUIJA - May 30, 2008 - 05:11pm
When I read this news I quickly searched for my Ouija board and very creepy without even questioning it spelled:
I-T-W-I-L-L-S-U-C-K
NINJA ASSASSIN Begins Production for McTeigue - May 30, 2008 - 05:00pm
Yeah! Ninja 3 has the chick from the breakdance movie "Breakin". We used to re-enact those two movies in a long long ago summer. Those are real 80's classics.Rain was ok in Speed Racer (yes I saw it with my kids, don't judge me!!!). I would not mind seeing more of him.PS... I Loved V for vendetta (I said don't judge me!!!) ;p
Berkley, Evigan Join DONNIE DARKO Sequel - May 30, 2008 - 04:49pm
You sillies... don't you get it? It's a comedy satire, like "Reposessed", with america's original legion posessed Linda Blair.
Box Office: Paramount Finds Memorial Day Treasure with INDY - May 25, 2008 - 05:39pm
"Indiana Jones Light" was worth seeing at the movies, It was an entertaining "tribute" movie.
But budget vs budget... The Ironman team returned a better picture for less moolah. IMO
New Photos for DRAGONBALL Cast - May 25, 2008 - 07:58am
I'm not concerned for the story... DB is mostly one big fight surrounded by "OMG, he has elevated to 1021343132546420 power level", "now he's at 35635632167465165769876516".
Now, I hope the fights are good and show respect to the series. Oh, and that the effects do not overkill the actual martial acts.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL - May 25, 2008 - 07:49am
Hmmmm... Entertaining but a bit "Indiana Jones Light"... After the movie ended we nickpicked it to oblivion, but is was ok. Marion Ravenwood has little action, but she is still crazy kick ass. The monkey scene, well, my 5 year old loved it. And there were A LOT of mistakes. I will not say any more.
A bit X-files? Well, there was no Mulder or Scully, so no X-files for me. Maybe Mulder will find the spaceship under the amazon river in the next X-files movie.
23.5 Degrees Movie Review: Bloodline---The Movie - May 25, 2008 - 07:37am
I LOVE conspiracy theories... but is does not mean I believe in them...
They are a kind of "historical fiction" (HisFi). But just like SciFi sometimes hits a target and they come true (for example 10000 leagues under the sea), HisFi may also have "something" in it.
I really wish that there was a bloodline, but so far nothing has been convincing (and I read Holy Blood Holy Grail cover to cover!). But then, there is also a Conspiracy theory that Jesus never existed, so... you never know.
And, where can I see Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead?
Mania Manifesto: Top 4 Reasons Tomorrow's Food Is Going to Suck - May 20, 2008 - 10:49am
Maybe it's Human intervention or maybe not... I'm just saying that if the final five come from earth, they may solve this situation or take us to a new planetary kobol colonies.

Mania Manifesto: Top 4 Reasons Tomorrow's Food Is Going to Suck - May 20, 2008 - 10:07am
For every action there is a reaction... hotter summer = colder winter. Remember that when the US is in winter, Australia is in summer. For a fixed amount of energy in the world (yes, enegy fluctuates, but mostly remains withing a constant rate), if the US has a particular cold winter, it means that on the other hemisphere they are having a particular hot summer.
Since the average amount of energy in the world has not changed, the actual effect of "Global Warming" is changing the energy distribution across the globe. Places that used to be cold are getting warmer, and viceversa.
Scientist have called this phenomena "Global Warming" because its effects are more obvious in the hot seasons and areas that are melting. And by the way, just like the weather phenomena called "El Niño", "Global Warming" is only a name, it does not fully describe the effect of the events.
George Lucas Talks INDY 5 - May 19, 2008 - 07:30am
Yeah, right... it's not Lucas... it's Spielberg the evil genious. He vil take our money (say it with a vampire accent).
Laura Dern Returns for JURASSIC 4 - May 19, 2008 - 07:22am
OK, this MUST be a joke... what now? are the dino's going to rebel?
The first movie was so beautiful ("nature finds its way...), the revelation that these dinosaurs are animals, not good or bad... Then there was a second island, which... humm ok, it can happen... then a third movie for a rescue in the island where the evil dinos live and two exes rekindle love...
Yes I agree, the book and the original movie were great, but with the direction that the series has taken, I have to wonder Why a fourth?
Oh! Yes... I forgot... $$$
Weinsteins Set to Adapt The ALCHEMIST - May 19, 2008 - 07:12am
As much as I like Coelho's work, I see this movie similar to "The 7 people you meet in heaven" TV Movie. To say the story is simple is an understatement, but adding elements to the film version may alter the initial vision of the book. While it is sold as an "adventure", not much action happens; most of the lessons come from Santiago's own enlightment. A film version of "Veronika decide morir" (also by Coelho) makes more sense. "El Alquimista" is a book meant to be read, unlike "DaVinci Code" which was meant to be a movie (and turned out to be a bad one).
SPIDER-MAN 4 & 5 Filmed Together? - May 17, 2008 - 06:06pm
Please, don't kill me for saying this!
The 3rd movie was a mess... too many plots going on. The 2nd movie was a long version of the final minutes of the first movie. I liked Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, and the movies were enjoyable, but not great!
For a 4th and 5th, and for whoever gets cast, the story needs to get more solid, not just throw a bunch of villains and comic storylines with expensive effects.
Marathon Taking SPIES From TV to Theaters - May 16, 2008 - 04:04pm
This news are like old, this movie was totally called Charlie's Angels... and like, it even has like a second part...
Columbia Gets GOOSEBUMPS - May 15, 2008 - 03:50pm

5 Almost-Great Sci-Fi Films Worth a Second Look - May 15, 2008 - 03:37pm
I remember that I saw enemy mine in the theater when I was fairly young and was deeply moved by it. I have it on VHS (yes VHS) but barely watched it because it always broke my heart. Just like The Princess Bride, it was ahead of its time...
New HULK Trailer - May 14, 2008 - 06:08pm
I am not recently moved by trailers, show too little and it's a bad movie; show too much and the movie is ruined.
Nevertheless I have hope because Ed Norton is a good actor; and we all heard that he diva-ed his way to the final cut.
But the CGI Hulk... well, after being raised by an awsome Lou Ferrigno, no CGI will ever be enough. And even if the Hulk was born in a comic, the TV version is the one that gave me the biggest impression... the Hulk was flesh and bones (but mostly muscles).
TV Wasteland: Fox “Inkubates” Animation - May 13, 2008 - 11:44am
I loved the Aeon Flux animated series, which like The Head, and Beavis & Butthead came from MTV's liquid television (when MTV was relevant to the creative minds). These experimental shows are creative gold mines!
I WANT TO BELIEVE Trailer - May 13, 2008 - 11:30am
Mierda... I got hooked to X-files by Roads a couple years ago. He lent me the 9 seasons + 1 movie, which I watched back to back while recuperating from a back surgery.
Yes, the movie could be an episode... but, since the series ended ... Damn, the movie will have to do to get a Mulder-fix.
Hey... if sex and the city can get a movie, I hope that X-files is able to balance The Force with "I want to believe".
FRAGGLE ROCK Headed for Big Screen - May 13, 2008 - 11:20am

HEROES Season Three Promo - May 13, 2008 - 11:12am
Thank you gauley... but don't sir me, among friends they call me a girl (born that way BTW)
I saw the 1st season in one sitting... it was a crazy experience. At some point I was so into the action, that I started developing my own "special abilities"... self induced hallucination.
