Date: Thursday, August 18, 2005

Warner Brothers has announced that the release date for V FOR VENDETTA has been moved to March 17, 2006. The studio moved the date "to accommodate the movie's post-production schedule."

As previously reported the film is based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. The story centers on a self-styled anarchist terrorist who bombs London, assassinates government officials and models himself on notorious British traitor Guy Fawkes, who is burned in effigy in the U.K. every Nov. 5.

This Blows!!! Not that I am expecting that much from this movie. I just pray it isn't as bad as LXG... god that was awful. Someday, a director and a studio is going to do an Alan Moore work justice. Why don't they just push it back another seven months...remember, remember, the eleventh of september...

This movie just might be worth the wait. I hope it's as good as they're making it out to be. This could also tremendously help the Wachowski Bros. rep. with some of there former fans.

I'm not sure if it's possible to do complete justice to any of Mr. Moore's works, because they are so intricately woven pieces of literature. If you change some plot device to suit a movie's script or time constraints, it's easy for the whole story to unwind into a mess of threads. I think the only way to make a great movie from one of Mr. Moore's superior stories is to have the author himself write the screenplay and produce or even direct the film so it stays true to his vision. Worked for Sin City.

Worked for Sin City." Wessmith, you couldn't be more clsoe to the truth. Perfect example; Exorcist III. Not only did William Peter Blatty (the guy who created the original Exorcist and ) write the book for part 3 at first, aka Legoin, but he also wrote and directed the film as well. Still one of my favorite movies of all time and I can't imagine anyone else who could have done a better job on it than him.

One more thing, I made a mistake. The book I quoted "Legoin" is actually "Legion".

hey latinpoetofdoom, take it easy on LXG...it was by no means perfect, but I took it for what it was. A fun two hours of escapism.

The wachowski, uh, "siblings" ruined the latter two matrix movies by being too profound. I am beginning to think the first matrix was a creative fluke, propped up by some novel f/x. And now ANOTHER film of rebellion/revolution with Hugo Weaving?? I think their range is limited. I will be very skeptical of any film that needs additional time in the oven. I smell turkey.

Being a past student of film. If post production work is taking longer, it's usually a good thing, unless someone gets fired. In this case, it doesn't seem so. it's just scheduling. This movie, I predict, to be very good.
