No, you're wrong about GL. It really WAS that that bad, and needs to be quickly forgetten and re-started.
This isn't overly surprising news. A Batman Reboot for 2015 has been on the IMDb for well over a year, long before TDKR was released.

I'm with you SmokingFrog
Snyder's MOS needs to link up with JL. Why have 2 different Supermans.
As far as Bats go I'm cool with this. No need to retell any origins there, just have him go into his own adventures as an established crime fighter, even if it's still early in his career.
We can have origins for the rest of the team members in their solo films or quickly recapped in the JL film then have them examined closer in their solo franchises.
I would keep Green Lantern as is IMO. The problems there were with the story, something that can be remedied in future films. Or we can just keep GL in the JL films only for now. If we go into the Sinestro Corps that could work great for a JL film instead of a GL film.
DC doesn't have a clue what they're doing. The great thing about the AVENGERS was linking the stories, not creating totally new characters and stories. It was the interaction of the characters that you already knew about. As good as this Hulk was, I still would have liked to see Ed Norton in the role.
There are so many rumors about JL, which indicate DC and WB are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Heard McG is on the Director short list...what? Why wouldn't you have the same Superman in MOS and JL? That makes zero sense. Why wouldn't they be connected? DC should just stick to making cartoons and video games. JL is really shaping up to be a cluster F!
The original Star Trek film was horrible. Truly a bad movie, and yet, The Wrath of Khan made people all but forget about Veger, and the slooooooooow pace of the original film. I think the same can be done with GL. It didn't live up to its potential, but it wasn't horrible, and with a solid sequel, it could be as awesome on screen as it is on the page.
As far as JL goes, I truly hope WB takes its time, plans things out well, and gives the movie world the heroes and stories that this pantheon of characters deserves, and not some rushed product that is quickly swept under the rug.
They might as well also plan for a Justice League reboot for 2017 while they're at it.
The wheel are clanking alright. This sounds like they are rushing just to cash in somehow. The WB will fuck this up and ruin any chance of launching another superhero franchise
WB seems not to have their act together. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that's the case.
As far as Cavill, it almost sounds like they are waiting to see how MoS will be accepted by the public before deciding on wether or not to keep him or reboot him for JL. Doesn't exactly seem to show a lot of faith in what they have.
I'm just very pessimistic on all of this, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. (Kind of doubt that they are going to call me up and ask for my opinion anyway...)
oh ffs. I agree with relaunching Batman in this manner, but talking about recasting Superman before MoS is even out? And GL may have been met with a resounding "MEH!" by 99% of the viewing public, but was it really a disaster? Investing in a decent sequel would seem a more canny, universe-building move. DC needs to show some faith and loyalty to its individual properties before trying to jump into the ring with Marvel, otherwise it'll just get creamed. Again. And again.
