Eidos Interactive has acquired the rights to develop a video game based on Paramount's upcoming remake of THE ITALIAN JOB. The game will be released sometime this summer. The movie opens in theaters on May 30.
One of the game's modes will recreate the film's storyline. The game places you in the part of Charlie Croker (played by Mark Wahlberg in the film), a thief who was double-crossed by his former employers. Now Charlie wants revenge, and to get it he's staged an elaborate heist that will create the largest traffic jam in L.A. history and get back a billion dollars in gold bullion from Charlie's enemies. 15 different missions must be successfully completed to earn Charlie his comeuppance.
The game's two other modes, Circuit Mode and Stunt Driving, let you go crazy in the streets of Hollywood and Los Angeles.
The game will be available for the Sony PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo Gamecube.
