It remains unknown which role officially, perhaps he was offered Clemns but may take another instead.

Thanks to Chopsaki for the submission.

This movie is probably in better hands with Marshall instead of Slade anyway. If it comes close to The Descent, then it should be pretty spectacular.
Agree with Wiseguy. Viggo is a great actor and has the talent to play such a broad variety of roles. And can knock them out of the park. I would check it out simply with his name attached to star in.
I thought the project stuck in Developement Hell, good to see it's working it's way back into production, it sounds like something I want to see. And Viggo attached to it is just a good bonus.
FINALLY... a vampire story with some foundation and some gravitas (to borrow Robert's word - it really is the most appropriate term here). As popcorn-fun as the Underworld films can be (with enough alcohol), there hasn't been a truly deep or sincere vampire film since Bram Stoker's Dracula in the early 90s.
I'm pretty stoked to hear that he's making a sequel to Eastern Promises. That was cool flick. I didn't even know they were planning a sequel.
Yeah, Eastern Promises was great. I enjoyed that immensely! And not for Viggo's wienie, like you guys are thinking.
I think this movie could be pretty good. If there's one thing about vampire movies, it's that they haven't produced the same kind of quality as zombie movies have. Zombies are the "it" monster right now–and for good reason–they encompass an alegory of what it means to be alive in the 21st century. What is life? What does it mean to be dead? How do we separate the two?
Vampire movies can cover this same ground, but we really haven't seen any try to do this. I have completely ignored True Blood. I watched the first episode, and I couldn't stand the actors, script, story, etc. But in the right hands, a vampire movie can do just as well as a zombie flick. It just needs the right person to come along and do it.
And yes, even Interview with a Vampire had its major flaws. Bram Stoker's Dracula came close, but I'm still waiting for that perfect vampire movie. Although, Near Dark was pretty good.
I'm confused. The article sys Viggo was offered the role of Henry Clemens but later speculates as to whether he'll play Dracula or some other crewmember. Did I miss something?
