Sean Bean and cast is ready to sail in the viking epic, LAST BATTLE DREAMER, says Hollywood Reporter. The trade is reporting that writer-director Menno Meyjes will be helming the voyage starring Sean Bean, Abbie Cornish & Ryan Phillippe in this tale about Vikings. Handmade Films International and Future Films are handling the sales to whichever distributor options it. The epic is set to shoot sometime this winter.

Plot Concept: The story will center on a seventh-century Viking warrior named Thorfinn(Ryan Phillippe) who, along with his older brother, the battle-scarred Hakon (Sean Bean), invade Britain.

Ryan Phillippe?! A Viking? Well, i guess they weren't all born to be rugged and intimidating.

Yeah, Phillippe doesn't come across as classic Viking material, but if you've ever seen the movie The Long Ships from the 60s with teen idol Russ Tamblyn you'll see Hollywood likes sticking cutesy boys in bearskins and swords.
Sean Bean. Why hasn't his name come up to play Thor in the upcoming Marvel movie?

Maybe Ryan Phillippe is playing a comely British lass taken by the brothers in the raid. Ultimately, fighting over her leads to their downfall.

Bean is awesome. A true talent who is woefully underused and underappreciated. Long live the Bean!

This sounds great.
On a side note I wish they'd release Erik the Viking on DVD. It's so stupid it's funny.
And Bean is great, but he's not underused or underappreciated. He's in a ton of stuff and he's known to be good in all of them.
Now Michael Biehn was under-appreciated and under-used. (Pronounced Bean by the way.)

Lemme guess. Sean Bean betrays his brother and they're forced to fight each other.

Can a nancy boy BE a Viking?

That's like casting me as some mythical warrior.

nimerod • Sep 07, 2007, 05:41pm •
the last role in wich I can Remember Micheal Biehn being in is....Tombstone. Yeah, really underuse. And now T4 will come out and they will cast him as a tribute to his own role...now being played by an anonimous wannabe hollywood legend.
