THIRTEEN director Catherine Hardwicke (who is currently filming the 70s skateboarding feature LORDS OF DOGTOWN) has attached herself to VIVALDI, a biopic about the famous 18th century Italian music composer. Columbia Pictures is the home for the project and Imagine Entertainment is the production company behind the film's development. Brian Grazer (producer of the Academy Award-winning A BEAUTIFUL MIND among others) will produce the film.
The movie will cover the life of the priest-turned-composer but also focus on the scandalous love affair Vivaldi had with Anna Giraud, one of his former students and the woman that inspired him to wrote "The Four Seasons." Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott are in negotiations to write the script for the movie.
