According to The Hollywood Reporter, the voice cast for the upcoming DreamWorks film SHREK THE THIRD will include an elite, ninja-like strike force of fairy-tale princesses voiced by Amy Sedaris as Cinderella, Amy Poehler as Snow White, Maya Rudolph as Rapunzel and Cheri Oteri as Sleeping Beauty.

Also joining the hit animated comedy's cast are Ian McShane as Captain Hook, John Krasinski as Sir Lancelot, Justin Timberlake as King Arthur, aka Artie and Monty Python veteran Eric Idle as Merlin the magician.

The newcomers will join Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Princess Fiona), Eddie Murphy (Donkey) and Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots).

Organized by Princess Fiona, the princesses' underground resistance movement fends off a coup d'etat by Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) in the land of Far, Far Away.

SHREK THE THIRD is being directed by Chris Miller, and scheduled for a May 18th, 2007 release.

Very impressive voice cast...but I'm not really sold on Justin Timberlake as King Arthur.

Well, Timberlake has been an item with Cameron Diaz for quite awhile now, so I'm guessing this is one of those casting "package deals." Kinda like the way we seem to get stuck with Freddie Prinze Jr. on half of Sarah Michelle Gellar's projects.

It's good to see one Monty Python alum along for the ride. That should be a requirement for any Arthurian parody.

Sounds fun but Timbrlake as King Arthur? With the "aka Artie" maybe he's being played for laughs. Timberlake's voice has no commanding quality about it that you might think Arthur would have.

While it sounds weird that Timberlake is playing King Arthur, keep in mind that he's suppose to be a younger Arthur just prior to being King. So they're sort of going for a early 20's, rebelous kid. Perfect for his type of voice.

In a Shrek film? A character being played for laughs? Ya think? ;)

I'd guess this is going to be young Arthur before he's his commanding self.

I hope they call him "Wart"

Considering they already have Cameron Diaz, they should have picked up Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore in order to make a Charlies Angels connection.

John Cleese in the last one, now Eric Idle. Place your bets for who will be in Shrek 4!

Half of me wants this to tank just because Timberlake is in it. The other half wants them to realize 1/2 way through that he's all wrong and cast someone else for the voice of Artie. Maybe Justin Long.

Loved the original Shrek. Thought it ended perfectly, which is why I never saw Shrek 2. Is the sequel worth it?

both Shrek movies sucked. I cannot stand mike meyers so I wa snot bale to get into the film. Shrek 2 was wow, major bad. bad story bad jokes, bad film. I have to think it wont get any worse, if they keep Bryan Singer away from it.
