VOYAGER's Tim Russ Launches CD
By: Anna L. KaplanDate: Monday, April 24, 2000
Tim Russ celebrated the release of his self-titled CD and beginning of his upcoming European tour with Neil Norman and his Cosmic Orchestra at a Los Angeles restaurant on Tuesday April 18th. Friends and family of Russ (STAR TREK: VOYAGER's Tuvok) attended a small party, where the mood was quietly festive and happy.
The music from Russ'CD played in the background as people mingled. The CD, which Norman produced, features three new compositions by Russ, as well as his renditions of, among others, Randy Newman's 'Louisiana,' Stephen Stills' 'Love The One You're With,' Cat Stevens' 'Where Do The Children Play,' and Robert Leroy Johnson's 'Crossroads.' (Russ appeared as Johnson in Walter Hill's film CROSSROADS.) The rich musical arrangements compliment Russ' excellent vocals, making the CD a delight.
From the STAR TREK family, guests at the launch party included Robert Beltran (VOYAGER's CHAKOTAY), and from DEEP SPACE NINE, Chase Masterson (Leeta). Ethan Phillips (Neelix) was spotted making a late entry.
The CD can be purchased from Tim Russ' webpage. It is also available through GNP-Crescendo records at www.gnpcrescendo.com.
