TNT has brought in actor Donnie Wahlberg (SAW II & III) and DREAMCATCHER) and director Jon Avnet (88 MINUTES) to develop a new crime drama entitled MORSE CODE.

The series will center on a a young war hero-turned-Drug Enforcement Administration officer working in his hometown of Boston.

At this time Wahlberg looks to star in the show.  Avnet will direct.   Walon Green (LAW & ORDER) will write the script.  All three will produce.

A TNT executive told The Hollywood Reporter, "Our original shows are character-based dramas that speak directly to the audience.  The guy at the center of this is a relatable everyman kind of cop -- an honest, authentic character that our audience can connect with on a personal level."

Wahlberg and Avnet previously worked together on BOOMTOWN and the upcoming RIGHTEOUS KILL.

That's a good guess I'll bet.
If not it should be, if this movie should be made at all.

WOW, a TV series about a cop! It's refreshing to see something that fresh and new and completely orignal! Who says the're are no new ideas in TV land!..... I demand they cancel this travesty of justice even before it starts! OR ELSE I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!.....and I'll write them a nasty letter, so there!

While we're at it, I suggest series involving doctors and lawyers should be banned from television. Unless a series puts a spin on the genre the way The Shield did, I roll my eyes and will never watch another cop show.
