Waid, Wieringo on FANTASTIC FOUR

Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo, who once teamed on DC Comics' THE FLASH, are the new creative team of Marvel Comics' FANTASTIC FOUR.

Waid is ending his exclusivity with CrossGen Comics but recently reached a long-term agreement to continue writing the company's new title RUSE.

"I'm still on the CrossGen payroll, not only now but after the first of the year in a non-exclusive capacity, so this early in the game, I don't feel comfortable saying too much about FF," Waid says. "Honestly, RUSE is my number one priority at this moment -- but having said that, I can't wait to sink my teeth into Marvel's First Family. Oh, and kids -- read RUSE!"

Wieringo says that he might start as soon as FANTASTIC FOUR #57, but that's still tentative. His final issue as artist of ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN will be #600.

"I'm really excited to be working with Mark again," Wieringo says. "I have incredibly fond memories of our run on FLASH together, and I hope we can work some of the same energy into FF that we did on that title."
