Walden Media has a new family fantasy planned that mixes CG and live-action elements as seen in their previous efforts of Charlotte's Web and The Chronicle of Narnia films. This won't won't be released by Disney though. Instead, 20th Century Fox is likely handling the distribution under the studio's deal with Walden, reports Variety.

The distributor has acquired a new family-oriented tale titled Housebroken which takes a comedic look at a group of talking animals forced to live under the same roof when the two halves of the couple that owns them moves in together. It's based on a pitch from Made of Honor screenwriter Adam Sztykiel, who will write the screenplay.

Mike DeLuca will produce, with Aaron Kaplan and Sean Perrone, who conceived the story, executive producing.

For some reason I don't enjoy the movies that walden media produces. I rather let my kids watch gremlins, neverending story, dark crystal than those wimpy wimpy films. But don't get me wrong, I also let them watch sweet movies like The little princess, and George (the monkey), Babe (the pig), but there is something that I do not trust about the Walden Media output. They creep me out, and I'm a Tales fomr the Crypt fan!!!!

Yes, Walden Media is run by born-again Christian CEO so all their fare tends to be more G-rated non-controversial stuff. They just felt there wasn't enough of those kind of movies for families with that orientation. And it seems to have worked out for them.

I've only seem the Narnia stuff which I enjoyed, but I'm like you. I'd rather see Neverending Story, Dark Crystal, or Time Bandits then something too syrupy sweet.

"And that's the way we all became the Brady Bunch!"

This sounds like a clean version of Step Brothers.

Walden has put out some decent films and they have some decent ones in the horizon. I don't understand why all the Christian bashing. I guess films that promote values and morals may be too retro for some of you. Anyway to each their own.

For whatever reason, lame humor, lame story, bad effects... I RARELY EVER like any talking animals (animated or live) mixed with live action. About the only exception (which isn't live or CG, btw) is Who Framed Roger Rabbit? but that went an entirely different route.

As for Walden, I've only seen a few. Narnia films were good. But with Holes and Bridge to Terebithia, some aspects just didn't seem off, amateurish, like poor lighting or forced acting. As a whole the movies were ok, just some things could have been done much better.

Hey! Just in case I was not bashing any religion (I have Ministers and priests in my inmediate family). I just have not enjoyed Narnia, or Terabithia, or any other of their movies. They are sort of slow and wimpy when suddenly they are killing in plain view the lion king (Aslan), or suddenly they kill the little girl. I prefer fantastic fantasy, not depressing and creepy ones. It is safe to say that I don't like their style.

Wiseguy, I wasn't putting down Christianity or Walden Media either. I was just giving a heads-up to where they are coming from. And like I said, they have done pretty well with it. If we can only get other major corporations to let their spiritual values dictate how they do business instead of a dollar bill.

Scientology and Thugee cults. Ok, I might pick on them.

I stand corrected, sorry for jumping to conclusions, monkeyfoot and velgron.
