It hasn't been mentioned yet, and I'm glad Shane 'is' gone, but he was right about Randall. When they were in the woods, Shane said he wanted to join Randall's group, and Randall was more than happy to say how he would fit in perfectly, and wasn't "ashamed" of having to take up with the marauders like he was earlier.

Also, a sort of side note/question: For those that are upset about the television series not sticking closer to the source material, can you give examples where that has 'ever' happened (besides Gone With The Wind), especially in these particular genres covered here on this site?

John Carter, Batman (from West to Keaton to Bale), Superman, Kick-Ass, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, X-Men, Iron Man and tons and tons and tons more... none of them have been truly faithful to their source material, often taking only themes and broadstroke storyline directions from their original creation.

Isn't Kirkman an Executive Producer on the show? Hasn't he also co-authored episodes and has a heavy hand in the direction of the storylines? How mad can someone be if the creator of the property wants to tell an "alternate reality" version of his own design?

About him pulling the gun on his dad

I thought that was the case too, until i thought about it he asked what happened then he pulled his gun...his father was alil further away but he must have saw shane getting up too with his new zombie swag, that being why he pulled his gun, not that he pulled it on his dad.

Good episode, solid B rating for me, somehow I feel a little "let down" with the Shane - Rick showdown, I mean the full moon, standing on a hill, all seemed to be a bit forced. Shanes change into a walker was a nice touch with flashes of walker confusion.  I saw it coming with Carl killing him, and I really feel that Carl was holding the gun on Shane not his Dad, maybe he saw him move?

Daryl was not fooled, once he retraced the steps you could tell he knew what was going on.  Next week will be interesting with what looks like about a 100 walkers attacking.

Hanso's - your comments crack me up *warehouse dancing like Footloose" ha - nice touch.

If they have already picked the actor to play the Governor then how is that story line gonna play out?  I thought they go to the prison for the winter?

That sucked. I don't like the way they did away with Shane. Yeah I know his time was coming but that just seemed lazy to me. Even if you hate him you love to hate him.

And yeah once again Shane proved to be right. Randall's group is a bunch of thugs so killing him would've been  the right thing to do because him being from the area he could've always found his way back to them and led them to the farm

Agree that Carl getting out the house and wandering about all the time is senseless. I keep better track of my dogs than Lori does of her only child

Looked more like 2000 walkers.  Which was my only complaint.

Excellent episode...possible minor plot holes and all.  My favorite show on television now days!  It's hard to say who Carl was pulling the gun on at first...I really don't think Shayne (Shane?) had begun to move yet, and how would Carl even know he WAS a walker so soon?  Carl did indeed have a bondship with Shayne, so maybe his pointing the gun at Rick was just a gut instinct out of fright and anger...then he noticed the "not quite right" Shayne afterwards...?   Who knows, and who cares, it was a great episode!

Episode seemed like it stalled in the middle, but the ending made up for it.   I know some of you are angry to see Shane go, but things were coming to a head anyway.  Shane and Rick could no longer co-exist.  I guess they could have let Shane leave the group, but that also would have been a stretch due to his desires for Lori and Carl.

I know its plot device writing, but I agree that Carl should have a leash tied to him.  Even though he has shown Wolverine like healing factor in recovering from his gunshot wound, you would think he would be watched a little closer.

And for those of you who can't dance ala Kevin Bacon, try hopping on your board and thrashing in a warehouse ala Christian Slater in Gleaming the Cube.

Read the review, but not the comments... yet.  Will do that later and come back.

We had a discussion a while back on who would win in a Rick vs Shane throwdown.  Most people were picking Shane, but I said Rick all the way.  Mainly because both had similar training, but Rick would outthink Shane.  That's basically what happened here, Rick played Shane.  (And I'm not buying that Shane wanted Rick to kill him.)

Rick may have known about people already being infected (thanks to the CDC guy), but the jury is still out on that one.  Was he waiting for him to turn when Carl found them???

Also, I initially thought that Carl pulled a gun on his dad before Shane stood up.  That may have been the case, but a repeat viewing showed me that it could have been Shane was struggling to get up, thus prompting Carl to raise his gun.  In any event, I did a double take.

And what was with the flasing scenes of zombie faces when Shane was starting to turn?  What was that supposed to be?  We haven't seen that tactic before, and it confused me a bit.

I could go on and on, but I gots to go.  Glad Shane finally bit the bullet (and knife).  :)

man this sucks, I hate this, this sucks and I hate it.  I really hate it and it really really sucks.  This sucks so much that I hate it.  I hate it so much that it sucks.

Why didn't they get my permission to do all the things they've done on this show?  WHY?  I mean, I'm the one they're making it for aren't I?

I just hate this and this just sucks so I tell ya what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna and re-watch every episode to confirm that it not only sucks, but that I hate it too and then I'm gonna come back here and tell you all exactly how I feel

every week

Wish just posted the comment of the week!  :)

I forgot to mention one of my favorite things I saw.  I loved the Mad Men commercial for TWD fans.  "Everybody drinks like Hershel used to."  Priceless!!!!!
