The hole in the fence was a bit odd to me also.  At first I thought maybe it was a part of the prison that was sectioned off by fences, but then they showed up in the prison and the girls screams were heard by the group?? What the ...  I guess they could argue that walkers can't open doors.

Goldeneyez and Ddiaz, I totally understand Kirkman and how the virus works, but I thought that the guy in  the CDC suggested something more about the the actual zombie bites? Because, in the early  days when the outbreak happened, antibiotics didn't work, so while I'll buy the Komodo dragon, bacteria/sepsis theory, it seems that even after we know the virus is already within them, a bite is the literal kiss of death no matter what unless we can cut it off.

Herschel had to have antibiotics  for his amputation, but if he had been bitten on the side, even just a skin break, he'd be SOL with Antibiotics not even a consideration, that is the issue I am seeing, and why I think there is more to it, or perhaps a small handicap Kirkman may need to look into. there are many virus/bacteria partnerships out there in nature, and while we know there is a virus that "activates" it makes sense that a zombie bite has an exotic bacteria to "prepare the host" with the raging fever that leads to death (I also seem to remember mention  of a fever worse than any seen before that follows a bite, so again, smack of an exotic secondary microbe to me)

Sorry guys, I was a health and science reporter for years before I got into cinematography, and specialized in 'bugs!' Another reason I love this show so much!

Hey no worries goldeneyez. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with your explanation anyways. Just thought I'd point people to Kirkman's response.

You make a good point momitchell. I forgot he said he had done that. I just assumed no one had been to that side to see it. While I agree the writing has been great, there have been a few instances where things have been too convenient. Not exactly a dues ex machina but just ideas that could have easily been written another way to preserve logic.

invisioner, I might have misunderstood what you wrote but the last post sounds like what Kirkman said so it seems we are all on the same page.

Can't remember what the CDC guy said except what he later revealed to Rick is that everyone is already infected.

As for the hole in the prison wall... I kind of agree.  Though I do think that Rick check the perimiter around C Block, and the hole in the wall was in E Block.  Had they sealed off E block from C Block, and Carl opened siad seal while investigating the screams?  It does seem a bit convienent, but I also thought (even before this episode) that the Prison had only been partially secured.  Though how that works is beyond me.

So evidently zombies can't drown (otherwise the fishtank heads wouldn't have been moving their jaws).  But how  long can zombies survive without some kind of zombie food?  If they don't need food, then why attack everything like a crazed, well, zomibe?  :)

Because brains are delicious, obviously ;)

Did anyone else catch the look from Milton at the end of the episode during the Governor's speech?  I think they could go the way of the comics and have him help them escape.  It has been a while since I read the series, but if I remember correctly, it was one of Gov's men and the female Doc's assistant that helped Rick and Michonne escape (only to betray them at the prison).

On a side note, i am quite excited from Sunday night's episode of Comic Book Men where they said the original print issue #1 of TWD was selling for $700 - $10K depending on comic grade.  I am currently sitting on #1-40 mint condition, original run with a few Alt cover prints as well.  Unfortunately would have the entire series, but moved to a small island without comic distribution at that time.

Since, we talking zombies, how long do they last?

Michonne really knows how to catch a man's eye.

Even though Michonne's silence with Andrea was weak, I did like how Glenn immediately said Merle was involved when they had a moment to stop on the escape. I tihink it was lame to kill Oscar? the black inmate who helped them as they spent time with them trying to get the group to let them integrate. This season's been the best one but it still has the occasional moment of lazy writing to have the story move in a certain way which can be a little jarring, if only becasue when the show is good it's really good. To just have Daryl captured without showing how was lame too as it would be some feat to do so. They could have had an interesting scene where Daryl and Merle see each other in the gun fight and had things go from there.
