Scythe, I'm beginning to think that you don't care for this series all that much.  :)

Wiseguy 1/18/2012 8:47:21 AM

LOL @ scythe. I enjoy the series but then again I never read the books.

well...it should be stated that the tv series is now ''inspired'' by the comic, not ''based on''.

Just sayin....

As long as the story telling remains good, I could care less how far it deviates from the comic. Nolan's Batman movies deviate from the comics, but we don't care because he gets the "tone" right and the stories are well written and well told.

However, as with Wiseguy, I never read the books.

I only read the first 25 or so issues of the comic, but i am still waiting for them to get to the prison and to meet the sister with the pet zombies - at this rate all that stuff won't happen until season 5. C'mon AMC speed this thing up and get to the good stuff.

Looks amazing (as always).  Scythe, if you hate what they're doing so much, why continue to follow it?

The comic is dumb

jedibanner 1/19/2012 7:50:49 AM

Doug...for me anyway, it's the ''fading hope'' that what we read is not portrait correctly onscreen therefore advertising something based on a book we know inside out and now changing the characters, behaviours, stories and all, it's not the same anymore.

Somehow it was deemed a requirement that when you put something from a book into a movie or TV show, things HAVE to be changed....don't know why but, somehow people want that. Well not everyone likes it and my main issue with the show is that they are changing so much, it's true it shouldn't be called Walkind Dead anymore. By the 3rd season, they won't even need Robert Kirkman as executive procuder because by then all the characters will be so different then the book, why keep him around.

It's still a fun show with zombies and all but, don't call it walking Dead anymore...cause it ain't what the book is anymore.

I've read the comics and they are great.

But I do love the show too. You have to expect a few changes here and there, which is good because it keeps the comic fans like me guessing.
