'Been wondering about Rise of the Governor Silent Bob... uh, I mean IceKnight52, I'll have to check it out.

Well said scytheofluna, well said...

At the end of last week's episode Lori hesitated when she said that if there was anything else she was keeping from him other than her being pregnant and being with Shane when they thought that Rick was dead. I think that she was screwing Shane before the "world went to shit" or at least they had a strong attraction to each other.

Definitely a big A to this episode. Give credit to John Bernthal. He made the difference last night and let's hope he is recognized at the Emmy's for this episode.

The ending was truly a WTF moment. I so didn't expect that. What a great way to end mid season.

As for you comic fans complaining it's not true to the source material. I sympathize with you on this one. Being a longtime X-men comic fan, I shudder at what Fox has done to some of my beloved characters and storyline. Don't get me wrong, X-men First Class was a fun film, but it wasn't a true X-men film. You are probably saying the same thing "Walking Dead is a good zombie show but not a good Walking Dead show"

I also felt the same way with Kick-Ass.

Kind of glad I never read the Walking Dead comics.

Elbaz13 you're hitting the nail on the head man.

It might be entertaining, but it's not what I wanted after supporting the books for years.

Read the books, but wait until you get the taste of this show out of your mouth.  They're much much better.

It's fine they deviate from the comics, because frankly i dont want to know whats happening next. Sophia in the barn? Did'nt see that coming until the started blasting away and then I knew - the group was baout to get a dose of Hershals agony. BUT THANK GOD that story arc is over.

Shane rules im glad , they didn't kill him off so quick as he was in the comic.  He is a dynamic character and you just wanna root for him even tho ya know he's not all there.

Sophia being in the barn was no surprise i saw that coming a mile away and Rick doing what he had to do just capped off a great episode.

Feb will come fast =)

I'm with you xJokers. I think another reason Shane is doing what he's doing is to show all that he can do the hard things Rick won't do. Especially Lori and Karl who he obviously cares enough about to warn him not to use bad words.More than anything Shane wants to be the leader again because of this I think. As he  poignantly said to Lori, it was he who has saved her several times and not Rick, Rick keeps putting everyone in jeopardy and the little girl being a zombie is another point for Shane.

Oh and yeah I think Shane would beat Darryl easily Rick too except that Rick would be the one to never quit and I think Shane would because of who he is.

scytheofluna & JediBanner now both have a taste of what it was like to watch the JJA STAR TREK that took true roddenberry Trek and turned it into a soulless action flick.  Not so nice when someone frakks up your source material cannon is it.  I never read The Walking Dead. I like the TV version. I understand your POV when you say, "...it's not that it's not entertaining, or enjoyable as a show, but it isn't The Walking Dead." That's EXACTLY how Abrams TREK feels to me (and most other true trek fans).

I was still hoping to find Sophia Alive, and was surprised that they killed her off. I fear they did this SRTICTLY for the SHOCK VALUE. No other reason than to make us react to the sudden death of the girl they've been looking for so long.  Now Herschal's gonna have some 'splainin to do.  I wonder if she was bit first or did they toss her in there to feed the neighbors. Also he risked everyones lives cause he KNEW she was in there yet let them all waste time and take chances getting killed when he let them search in vain for her. There is more to be revealed with Sophia's fate I'm sure. How long has she been there? Who else knew she was already in the barn but didn't tell Ricks group?

Rise of the Govenor beats the Walking Dead show hands down, and does not deviate from the comics cannon, rather it expands upon it in a stand alone story.  (Had to sing praise to a great read.)

I love pay-off episodes, as they either shine or flop spectacularly.  This one had the possibility of going meekly into obscurity if it didn't wrap things up nicely, with viewers looking for some closure on Sophia.  (Time to move the story along already!)  I felt that the way it was done worked for the pacing of the show very well, helped out alot by some amazing performances by a stellar cast.

The main reason that I like the show after reading anything and everything Walking Dead is that I know what happens to all of the characters, now I get to see what else could happen to them.  Who lives and who dies is a coin still flipping in the air.  I am completely hooked on this show, and am ready for more in February, which I hope starts out the second half with Safety Behind Bars.
