Not sure since the show changes stuff but I'd say both. His secret is he is a closet Nickelback fan.

I was fortunate enogh to meet David Morrissey at NYCC, and I can confirm he is totally Liam Neeson, even out of character.
I thought the EXACT SAME thing about Liam Neeson and the Governor. Haha! You're definitely not crazy MovieGuy.
That being said, I think the Governor is way off from the comic version I love so much. This is easily my favorite story arc in TWD comics so far. If they mess this up, I'll be crestfallen.
I've grown up all my life in the south so Morrissey's southern accent seems a little stiff and forced to me. Unlike Neeson's in the few films I've seen him use one is more fluid and more natual sounding.
Let's not forget that another part of the reason for Merle's difference in personality comes from the fact that he is off the Coke.
I think that Merle's personality difference is because the Governor is keeping him in check and Merle is afraid of him. EIther getting killed or getting banished. I know you all saw that look the Governor gave him when Merle was getting a little uppity.
And just for the record.....
Not a bad episode, Governor wasn't really how I pictured him, maybe if he grew his hair a little. I really liked the non verbal communication between the characters.
haha, so I'm not crazy, thanks Hanso...
So is the Guvnuh just a hard psycho killer who took over a town, or does he have some crazy crazy secret?
And if he does have a secret, don't say....
