Incredible episode.....can't wait for Season 4!!!

Wiseguy 4/1/2013 6:58:33 AM

We were scrteaming at Andrea for taking so much time to look at Milton dying instead of getting busy with here was so infuriating that I was a bit glad she died. Those precious seconds wasted just pausing were the difference.

If I were Michone I would have told her one big last "should've left with me...I TOLD YA!" not to rub it in but out of anger for getting herself killed.

Carl? I believe in corporal punishment. I would've whooped that ass with my belt after taking his gun away. Little bastard ain't a man yet.

He made me laugh though at the end with his obvious disaproval of Rick bringing in all those survivors

Btw, the shit with the Governor seemed dumb to me. Why not go back and claim the folk died in battle. What the hell they gonna do now?

Them cats with the Gov are straight cowards. They could've shot him in the back when he went berserk but they froze like biatches. And the dummy pointing the rifle? well can't say I'm sad he died but damn, dude had the Gov dead to rights.

Yeah Wise, that was the one glaring weak point in an otherwise strong finale.  All those people were armed and not one of them thought to shoot back while the rest of their friends were being shot to death.   And even though we don't know him well, from what little character development we got from Martinez a few eps ago, it felt odd that he would just watch it all go down.  Guess the two didn't want to take the chance of taking the Gov out.

I was pissed about Andrea dying.  I know many fans have hated her portrayal and wanted her gone, but I really wanted to see the writers turn her around to more reflect her comic book counterpart.

Book spoilers:

The fact that she's still alive in the graphic novels and shacking up with Rick no less really made me think they would find a way to bring her back and keep her around for the long haul.  And with the Governor surviving and them staying at the prison, I really have no idea where the series is going to take us now.  Which is in part a good thing since fans of the comics are as much in the dark as non-book readers, but I'm sad at all the stories from the comics that we will not end up seeing in the show.

Haha Wise!  I was with you.  My wife got so mad I almost woke up my son I was yelling so much.  Why did she keep stopping!!!  Damn it!!

Anyways I thought it was a pretty good episode.  I'm not sure it was a great FInale but i'm happy.  I said to my wife I know there is going to be alot of hate on this episode.  I was satisfied to see it continue but with a new dynamic in Season 4.  I look forward to October but I will have to fill time with Homeland S2 and Game of Thrones S2 &3 by that point.  I love my PVR!!!

I am okay with The Governor being their foil next season.  I think he can do alot of damage with his small group as opposed to trying to keep up the facade of looking out for th town.  I like Tyrese coming aboard too.

When the episode ended I was really disappointed. Mainly becasue I was expecting the epic battle from the books. Now as I look back at the episode I like it more and more. It is more "realistic" as to how people who are not soldiers would act facing a major battle...on both sides of the fence.

And the Gov ending reminds me of Darth Vader spinning off into space at the end of New Hope. You don't know where he is heading, but you know he will come back pissed.

I didn't mention it in the review, but you guys and gals are right- Anfrea's constant attention on Milton was brutal. Just cut the damn cuffs, girl!

Ding dong andrea's gone!! Thank goodness! I dont have to yell, "You stupid retarded bich!" at the TV anymore while watching this show.

I think that Woodbury will all but be deserted now with half of the residents now with Rick's group. The Gov just wiped out most of his biter fighters Woodbury will now be less secure from the walkers.

Interesting finale.  It felt much more real than I expected from something based on a comic / graphic novel.  You don't make someone into a loyal soldier by handing them a gun and saying follow me. It was totally logical that as soon as the bullets started flying the governors group would turn tail and run because quite frankly they didn't need that sh*t.  It's one thing to follow someone who is helping you survive and quite another to take orders from someone who is putting your life in peril.  The Governors psychotic response to this betrayal also made sense...not so sure about the two minions who chose to stay with this psycho.

The writers were wise not to kill the Governor.  He's become one of the shows strongest most compelling characters.  When you you have a great villain (like The Joker, Lex Luthor, Dr. Doom or the Governor) you don't get rid of put them on the shelf for future use.  Andrea's demise was predictable as she was one of the fans least favorite characters and I think the writers are very aware of what the fans want, for that same reason we all knew that Daryl was no danger whatsoever.

The subplot with Carl is interesting. What kind of a value system (morals, etchics, philosophy, religion etc) does one live by in this lawless post apocalyptic world.

This show still feels like a old hollywood western to me...the Prison is like Dodge City, Rick is the Marshall, and we have good guys, bad guys, gunfights and savages
