You want DVDs? Somebody else has got DVDs!

Based on Actual Television Shows
Greetings Cinescapers! Last week I enticed you with the news that THE FLINSTONES and SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU! are soon to be released on DVD. For those of you still curious about these titles, please do not send me any e-mails, I have developed carpal tunnel syndrome and I weep every time I try to type. These titles will be released on March 16th. The JONNY QUEST and THE JETSONS sets, also mentioned last week, I have no information on except that they are being prepared for release eventually.
At this time I have decided to get out of the DVD news area, leaving it to a well-seasoned professional like Brian Thomas. So if you want to know about the RED DWARF, GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, GOOD TIMES, and WHAT'S HAPPENING!! DVD sets being released this Tuesday, please contact Brian. Same goes for the upcoming BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, H.R. PUFNSTUF and OZ box sets. If you want to know more about THE MILTON BERLE BUICK HOUR set, I'm not one to come to. I would rather eat shards of broken glass then inform you that THE BEST OF ABBOTT & COSTELLO: VOLUME 2 is coming out in March. Ever stick your face in a vat of hydrochloric acid? I will, rather then discuss the upcoming IN LIVING COLOR set, and don't think I wont put fire ants on my eyes rather then converse about the rumored BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25th CENTURY set.
Enough! This week I've informed by reader Thomas Grzesik that AMC is doing a horrible job chopping up the James Bond films they've been airing. In protest I will not list any of their broadcasts of these films, unless of course I forget, which is more then likely.
In the fun and games portion of our article, reader Matthew A. Reed poses this question, "Given the recent success of books faithfully being adapted for the big screen, what books would [you] like to see made into TV series?" If you've got an answer shoot it off to me at TVWasteland@cinescape.com.

BLAZING SADDLES (10:30 pm, TCM) It may seem hard to believe nowadays but a long time ago Mel Brooks made genuinely entertaining films. Harvey Korman's finest hour.
It's all over, you can breathe again. Feel free to tell me about your love of all things French at Tvwasteland@cinescape.com
